He has potential and has been fun to watch but certainly a bit early to tell considering the teams The Scats have played.

Claiming some kid that just waltzed in from Texas is already better than Jesus Christ is a bit far fetched. He will need to perform all the way through the 15 season (at least) before he can make that claim.

You can't just beat out Jesus Christ overnight silly Scats. Get with the program.

Good posts, and we all know JJ is a great QB, it isn't his fault that injuries have depleted the team removing him from the list. It does not take away what he has accomplished. Unfortunately with the OL line he will not make it back on the list

The kid is the best looking Sophomore I've ever seen in the Big Sky and that includes Super Dave. Big, fast, strong, smart, great touch and deep ball. Married up well to this offense and shows great dicipline in running the team and running with the ball. I wouldn't underestimate him under any circumstances. VA a great talent but this kid at another level IMHO.

Here's what Vernon did his sophomore year:

15 Games Played. 4,994 yards and 55 TD (15 INT) on 65.6 completion %. He also rushed for 605 and 4 tugs. He was runner up for Payton Award. Was league MVP and countless other awards and led his team to the FCS semifinals. All in his first year as a starter.

I don't know where to find DD's numbers, but I don't think they were that good his sophomore year.

Well they didn't count playoff stats back then and I can tell he was still close even only having 11 not VA's 15 games

46 touchdowns, 3978 Yards, 67.18% completion averaging at 361 YPG he could of had a total of
5422 yards if he had stats for 15 games and averaging 4.18 TD per game he was on track to have 62 touchdowns. SO yeah he had a pretty comparable sophomore year

JJ has taken more hard abuse this season than his previous collegiate years combined. He's getting pounded out there.

Unfortunately, JJ is our offense this year. The whole thing.

Prukop is a special talent, no doubt. By all appearances a fine young man, exceptional athlete, and a good sport representative who speaks well. The Cats have a young, exciting QB who will take them far and as a person is someone to be very proud of as a school representative.

It is interesting how similar these two are in those respects.

BUT ... switch the offsenses (sic) , and I think the appearances between JJ and Prukop would switch as well.

It looks to me like the kid can play. Seems to make good decisions and has the physical skills that work with the Cat's present system. Looks like they got a good one, and right now at least offensively, they are running on all cylinders.
