I see and hear an incredable amount of talk about true freshman players for the bobcats by the coaches. The coaches are playing many true Frosh. in their scrimmages and praising their skills on audio and video interviews. What these coaches are doing is basically saying the talent level that we have sucks, if we have a bad season this year and next wait for my 3rd and 4th seasons when my recruits are RS Soph or Juniors. If the cats are under .500 the coaches and I mean all the coaches except ironically Ione have praised the incoming Frosh as world beaters, can allude back to these tapes and say I told ya so back in August. The cats don't have the OL for a power game and if they get behind by 2 scores in this league a power running scheme will spell disaster for the cats. Coach choke reminds me of Delaney's first year trying to make a spread O into a Power O without the correct personnel, ironically that was the first year we had not made the playoffs in almost 30 years. The cats are in big trouble this year and the coaches know it and they are paving a solid path of I told you so for the 2016 season failures right now.

I agree. That's some scary coach speak if you're a sCat fan. Choate obviously didn't spend a lot of time looking at MSU's tape before taking this job and now realizes that the talent level there is very low and is preparing for the future. They're in total rebuild mode over there. Every one of their QBs lit up the defense at that scrimmage. A true frosh threw for three touchdowns and has been moved to second on the depth chart. Not good.

Your code breaking skills are great. We could've used you in WWII.

You cannot tell much from a first scrimmage.

Newel is a stud, he is the only cat i would have loved to see in a Griz uniform, but he is not a game changer.

I think your Coach would like OL JP Flynn and Grant Collins on the defense. Flynn will be playing on Sundays if he stays healthy this year.

I think there are about 40 Griz your coach would like.

Mark my words, coach Choke is setting the table for the MSU faithful to endure a couple sub .500 seasons. With the Griz dominance on the field and the new locker rooms, Turf, video board, ribbon boards, athletic academic center and a state of the art training center the Griz will dominate the cats for decades to come.

I don't remember any reports of the first fall scrimmage where the O-line didn't get taken to the woodshed by the Defense. That covers many years. It's similar to hitters always being ahead of pitching in spring training. Nothing to get wound up about at this point.

However attendance is way up. It will be about 16.3 thousand this fall. Plus over the last decade MSU football has been fine.

When it comes to budget for athletics, enrollment becomes important. UM going down hurts.
