Tinkle isn't interested, and I know that from a very good source. I think we all agree that he is next in line at UM when LK moves on to greener pastures.

Brad is interested. Unfortunately, I think this would be a great hire for MSU. Brad is an excellent coach, is familiar with MSU, is familiar to high school coaches in the region, etc. He would have MSU back in no time. Not only that, he has 2 little boys that are already great athletes.

Of the know canidates, Huse, Sprinkle, and Jim Shaw.

Chat on the Cats board is mostly re: Sprinkle, but some are angry that he blew off an appointment to discuss an assistant position.

Who knows.

I take it back, I just found it and it had been posted and reposted a couple of times, the one i saw had your nbame at the top like youhad written it. It was actually a guy who posts as Northerncat who said it, here is the link

I would like to see Sprinkle in there. I want to see someone I went to high school with do well. He has the smarts and the connections for the job.

This Bobcat head coach opening has been interesting. I am not a griz grad or a cat grad I am just a long time observer of college hoops in this state.

There are a few names that have come up in the Discussion the hot ones are as follows from what I can tell.

1. Leon Rice - Assitant at Gonzaga!

2. Brad Huse - Assistant at Montana

3. Some Assistnat at Washington for Romar who used to coach for the Cats can't remember his name.

4, Danny Sprinkle

There are a couple of names I think the Cat's could be missing on:

1. Tommy Connor - Current Head Coach at Westminster College, Great Coach, Great Guy and Weber and Idaho State Want him too.

2. George Phiefer - A former Head Coach at Lewis Clark State who went to Idaho this year as an assistant. He may not have a job.

3. Gary Turcotte - Current Carroll Head Coach - Been at the School for 16 years has over 300 victories in his carreer, only thing he has not done is win a national title and that is realistic for the Saints this year.

Other names that are out there for the Cats that may not be realistic:

1. Quinn Snyder - Apparently he and Fields have a relationship from Fields time at Missouri

2. Mike Davis

3. Paul Westphal

One thing to remember with Coaches is Montana Tech has an opening right now and Brad Huse and his brother Shawn are both being mentioned as top flight candidates right now on the Butte Rats message board.

Just some thoughts from an interested observer.
