Bobby's Bowl

He needs to seriously reconsider it. Its hard to be all in on both places. Plus it hurts us on recruiting because with 10 or so bowl practices thats ten days not visiting recruits.

Might have to coach in the bowl if you want to get the $ incentive for making the bowl (assuming SDSU assistants get one).

I seriously doubt he will be at all those practices.

Did Bobby indicate that he would coach in the Bowl game. Just asking as I was not aware.

Bobby said he was "committed" coaching in the bowl game. He also said it would not be a problem with recruiting, and referred to to same scenario when he first was hired at UM from UW, and UW was playing in the Sun Bowl that year.

Different scenario with the early signing period.

You guys know there’s still the normal signing period, right? Any commit that’s on the fence is very unlikely to flip and sign in the early signing period, anyways.

It’s nice to get them to sign early, but it’s not the end of the world if they don’t. I think we’re worrying about that a little too much.

True... But with a new coach, will they honor the Stitt verbals after the first period? Unknown

I would assume so, otherwise why keep staff around to continue recruiting the same kids?

I respect him for it. He committed to SD for the season, he is finishing it out. Would be more worried if he left them high and dry.

I wonder if anything has changed... back when Bobby was introduced, speculation was SDSU likely could be playing in a West Coast based bowl game against a Power 5 school. Now that they aren't, and have an earlier bowl, i'm wondering if he is still planning on coaching in that bowl. Maybe so, but seems like SDSU just missed out on a better bowl game.

WOW! That article is brutal. About the only plus for the Armed Force Bowl for SDSU is the location in Texas, the famous football hotbed. That's not much of a consolation. I'm betting you won't see a lot of SDSU fans headed to the game.
