Bobby's Back; Watch Out Oregon

Nobody said the wins were lucky PR. But nice to see you admit other backs are “emerging”. Lol

You do know that I was the first poster to start touting Knight as a very good running back when he arrived at UM, right? I indicated our running back strength was in good hands with Knight. I made these posts while others were touting other backs. I believe I made some others too.

Feb. 28 - "Knight seems to have very nice speed, without necessarily being a burner, size and some moves. He will be a nice addition."

On April 2, in a thread about who UM's running back is going to be, I said:

"Knight."

Another poster then said this on April 2:

"I find a lot of similarities between PR and Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon's character in Bull Durham). Every year he chooses someone he can have a virtual (hopefully) bromance with. Last year it was with Sneed. This year with Knight. Hopefully Sneed isn't miffed with being second banana this year but I don't think he is missing out on much not being PR's first banana."

[How am I doing on Sneed and Knight?]

After I touted Knight's stats as my first item after the spring scrimmage, I see that JCU said Knight was clearly the no. 1 back.

By April 21, when I am defending Knight, Kim calls him an impressive transfer.

When GrizRule says this as part of a larger post, I say good analysis and that I agree:

"Marcus Knight showed some great signs this spring. When the OL did its job, Knight looked the part of a lead back. He also looks to be the most versatile."

Aug. 31 - "I like Knight. Hits the hole, has a burst, and has a move or two. But doesn't overuse his moves."

In a post on Aug. 31 defending Eastwood as a D-I player, I also say this: "I like Knight too."

Sept 1 - "I spotted Knight and have been a proponent of him on egriz about as long as anyone. I have also been the poster who has touted Knight more than any other poster. That, however, does not mean that Eastwood is not a D-I back or good player."

I find it interesting that two of the more knowledgeable football posters, Kem and GrizRule, were also touting Knight fairly early. I don't mean to minimize JCU on this, as he was on board early, but I can't recall a lot of his posts and don't recall his football knowledge.

You really need to learn to take a joke, bud.

egriz would be a lot less funny if greenie learned how to take a joke. fortunately, that has little to no chance of that ever happening.

just imagine an egriz where greenie... wasn't greenie. that'd be like, what? seinfeld without kramer? or is that not representative enough? maybe 'office space' without lumbergh?

Who woulda thunk.LOL
So which is it here? They were 34 point favorites, they won by 32.

They were actually 36.5 point favorites. They didn’t cover. It’s obvious who wins that bet.

Yea you win if you make the bet in Vegas but I'm not sure it's really going to turn any heads around the country as far as how good the griz are. We know it was a good showing but I don't think we should be beating our chest about it.

What was the supposed joke?

Noticed that you became quite the name-dropper on Saturday. Did you say hi to all of those people for me?

I am not for a minute saying we are going to beat Oregon I am saying we are going to not get blown out by 50 points. I keep reading how it is going to be a blow out and hopefully kids won't get hurt yada yada. No more chance of our kids getting hurt as theirs. What's your bet?

I think 50 is more likely than 20

I think it will be closer to 30 ie something like 56 to 24.
Hey, pretty good prediction...off on the scoring but the 30 differential is spot on.

My text to Brint before the game:

"I think the griz may give Oregon more of a game than people expect, at least for awhile. I think the Griz have talent. And sneed. Please don’t let him get hurt. I don’t think Oregon will be sleeping, but I can’t imagine that they won’t be very confident and even overconfident. We need some breaks or luck early."

yes and more of their players were injured and at least one of their quality players. Griz will be 11-1 or no worse than 10-2. Good to be back on top.

And we didn't get them, unfortunately. The missed FG....the TD drive allowed with less than a minute to go in the 1st half...14-3 at half looks a WHOLE lot better than 21-0. then a couple of phantom PI calls...that BS call on Hauck....there were a few moments where we couldn't help ourselves, and a few moments where the refs helped Oregon...

Was a very fun game to be at. Oregon crowd was fantastic to these Griz fans. Would go back in a heartbeat. :thumb: :thumb:

Both great examples, honestly. :thumb: :thumb:
