Bobby Hauck

Yes, that YSU.

They would beat us at home by at least a TD. We couldn't handle their OL or DL in anyway shape or form.
The YSU team that lost to a team we beat? We wouldn't be able to handle them? You understand how absurd that sounds, right? UND beat them by 28 points....

And you said that only NDSU would not want to face them. Seems like SDSU and UND wouldn't be too worried either?

I gave you the benefit of the doubt, man, but this is an incredibly lame troll job.

Let me know how it works out for those teams when they meet again.

Thanks

I think YSU is pretty good but it is a stretch to say they would beat the Griz in the playoffs especially because the game will be in Missoula which is on the other side of the country.

I also wouldn’t overvalue YSU and USD based on last week alone because NDSU and UND were probably looking ahead to their respective Super Bowl or Griz/Cat game this weekend. South Dakota and YSU both could be tough for the Griz on the road but in Missoula the Griz should win easily. I have USD and YSU as a level below NDSU, SDSU with their qb and UND even with the result last weekend.

The YSU vs SIU game this weekend is likely a playoff elimination game that is how deep the MVFC is. Mid level teams in the MVFC would compete with the top teams in the Big Sky but the bottom of both conferences they Murray and Portland States are both equally as bad.

So, to be clear, we beat UND and then UND beat them by 28 points, and you take this data point to show that the Griz have no shot against the mighty Youngstown State? Brilliant analysis.
LAst weeks game against NDSU had nothing to do with this claim. Just watch YSU they are one of those teams getting better as the season goes on. When they peak they are going to be trouble for anyone (not NDSU) anywhere

I haven’t really watched YSU since their game at Alerus Center but UND’s Oline dominated YSU’s defense and looking at the stats in their game against NDSU it looks like the same thing happened to them there as well.

Can you think of any other teams that are improving as the season goes and when they hit their peak could give trouble to anyone?

I said nothing about the NDSU game. I pointed out that they got their ass handed to them by UND, who the Griz have already beaten. They also lost to SDSU. You're WAY over-valuing YSU and laughably devaluing the Griz and Hauck.

It was 28-7 at halftime of the UND YSU game. The final score does not accurately portray how much of a beat down this game was as UND pulled a lot of their starters in the second half. This game was less than a month ago.

Meyer is 187-32 (very average record) and Meyer won 3 National Championships in his 18 year career as a head coach. How many does Hauck have in 25 years? What is he like 0-5?
You would have to win 6 straight NCs to get to average.
So who would you hire to replace Bobby? Honestly if some young stud coach looked at Griz job and saw that the winningest coach in Griz history was run off because he didn’t win it all he wouldn’t touch this job. Do you get how hard it is to get to that game? Steigelmeier from SDSU was their winningest head coach and finally won it in his last year. The idea that someone can win a bunch of huge games over decades is incapable of ever of winning a championship is laughable. I don’t agree with everything Bobby says or does but there are a few things that are evident. 1) He loves UM 2) He is an elite special teams coach 3) He has connections throughout the nation that leads to an ability to attract highly qualified experienced assistants 4) He is a great motivator 5) He obviously knows how to connect with donors and that is how UM has brought in outstanding transfers in NIL era. So should UM bring in to replace him?

Even if some young stud coach did take this job if he had success he will be gone compared to Bobby is going to be here until he retires.
