Love it, good article. Sounds like he likes where we're at.
On an unrelated note:
The one game that sticks with him the most, he said, was UM’s first-round playoff loss to Wofford in 2007. The Terriers ran the triple option to a 23-22 win in front of a stunned crowd. The Grizzlies had a chance to win it at the end, but Dan Carpenter’s 47-yard field goal attempt sailed wide.
“That was our best team,” Hauck said.
I get that there was "a lot of NFL talent" on that team, but a lot of those players were freshmen/sophomores who didn't really play, and I will go to my deathbed believing that 2007 team was one of the most overrated Griz teams of my lifetime. That entire season was a slog of underperformances, and the offense was downright bad for a lot of the year. We should have beaten Wofford, but it's likely Richmond or (especially) App State would've cleaned us up after that.
Seems like the fans aren't the only people that look back on that season with, IMO, some extremely maroon-tinted glasses.
