JFC. You're just like our president. Unable to admit when you're just flat wrong.

What is flawed or false about ANY of those on my list? The only marginally questionable one was Bohl at NDSU. But that WAS a DII program when Bohl began coaching there. He then had succuss at the FCS level. That's the point.

The entire rest of the list is spotfuckingon. Baldwin coached at Central Washington before being hired at Eastern. If you can explain how that doesn't meet the criteria I'll give you a million dollars. Coach Glenn -- as you point out -- was coach at DII UNC. If you can explain how that doesn't meet the criteria I'll give you 2 million dollars.

And good luck trying to prove the others wrong as well.

So you have just proved that less than .5% of D-II are successful moving up to FCS. Good job proving 75's point.

Could you provide detailed information on how you came up with .5%? I would like to see the list of names, records, schools etc.

Mathing is hard for some people.

In my case, one reason I cite primarily from Coach Bob Stitt himself.

You hate that, don't you?

Typical. When the first three on their "list" does not prove anything, and in fact is demonstrably false, trying to prove that all DII promotions from DII head coach to DI head coach are the same. As I noted, the odds are strongly against it. As EC inadvertent admitted, that is simply the truth.

Now, he demands a list.

An old ploy.

I just wanted to know how he came up with his percentage. It would be interesting to actually see a number to base the argument. But I guess this is a message board, and being factual is not required.

HHB is correct up to a certain point. The research is to define the percentage of D-2 coaches moving up that are "successful" which needs defining as well. If one wanted to get really anal what is the percentage of coaches moving anywhere that are "successful". My guess that the percentage of success is marginal, maybe in the 25% range, but that is a blind ass guess. If you really aren't that good a coach to begin with, but have some blind-ass luck which happens, then you will get the call. Unfortunately, reality sets in at some point and you are what you are. Whether we are at that point or not I can't say.

It's very simple mathing. There are 169 D-II football teams. All have head coaches as well as assistant coaches. In 2015, by early January, a dozen D-II coaches had move on. Most coaches coach for a lot of years. Thus, there is good turnover of head coaches every year. Some moved up. Some are successful; many are not. Everett named a handful who had actually moved up and who had had some success somewhere. The ones who moved up and did poorly were not mentioned and have generally never been heard from again. See MSU for example of D-II mover uppers who didn't do well or very well, or were absolutely horrible. There are very few examples of D-II coaches moving up, who have not coached for years at higher levels as assistants. Thus, they don't really fit the criteria of Stitt's situation. Yes, he had one year at Harvard. When all this and more is put in the blender, the result is less than .5%. Everyone is welcome to come up with their own stats. However, all stats need to be proven up by sound reasoning (like above). Ha.

I find this a very acceptable analysis of the situation in the light that I doubt any will do further research. This season may or may not prove that he is one of the few that does well but we have to let it play out as tough as that may be for some.

They told me there wasn't going to be any math.

There hasn't been any math, just a bunch of random numbers thrown around. Did you know that .0000000002% of males that were bald by the age of 11 have been mediocre figure skaters?

This thread reminds me of Dick Button. The first porno I received a writing credit for.

List or STFU please.

Or just deflect.

eGriz protocol would put the burden on you to disprove...good luck.

PS, even if you can, I will just ignore it and direct the conversation in a different direction, like .0000000003% of 8 year old girls that weight over 250lbs will be above average strippers by the age of 22.

Yogi Berra established that all math is relative.

No, I don't hate it. I'd have to actually care in order to hate it.

Odd that you rush to comment so quickly for not "caring." Must be just an emotional palsy.
