Sorry to start another thread on Stitt, but wanted to discuss this separately than the offensive side. All of us are talking about his offensive mind, which is a great thing. With that said, can we evaluate and question what can and will bring to the defensive side? As much as I love great offense, average or worse defense is frustrating as hell. I'm not saying his defense will be bad, or his past defenses have been bad. I know very little about this guy. I do know this. I don't want to see a pathetic or even average defense. I expect whoever the new coach to be committed to be among the best defenses in the Big Sky, and Top 20 defense nationally. If a new coach should choose to keep Gregorak on as DC, or whoever it might be, I really do hope their is an emphasis placed on better consistency in nickel and dime packages. I feel the GRIZ need to improve in these packages to get back to being a national elite again.
I watched a lot of EWU, MSU, and Sac State this year. The pathetic defenses those teams played, made me very thankful for the GRIZ have a very solid defense, and most seasons the GRIZ have great defenses.
Rather it be Stitt, or anyone else, what would you like to see from our Defense in a new head coach? Or are some of you all about the offense, and don't give a Stitt about defense? I hope some can tell us what Stitt brings to the defensive side? What can we expect defensively from him?
