Stitt already has 80 or 85 of his recruits (based on ready that only about 18 prior recruits remained at the start of the season). He has his QB (Jensen and Phillips). He has all of his own receivers, I believe. Not H-backs but I hope you have any issues with Horner or Simis. What Are you serious that you would give him till 2020 to be running all cylinders? That’s 6 years.

Are you saying that UM, under Stitt, has improved on and off the field? Delaney’s last 2 teams were ranked nos. 12 and 8. What has improved off the field since Delaney?

Good evening PR!

There is no doubt my post was full of generalities, and “glass half full” fan speak. Regarding the “own players” comment, I want to see how his recruits continue to develop. Specifically, how a stitt recruited oline plays, which of his players develop into leaders to replace Shye, Strahm, McKinley, Simis, etc. I’m impressed with the contributions of stitt’s recruits, and am looking forward to their continued growth. By own players, I also was insinuating that I liked the recruits that stitt has brought in and look forward to future classes. You are correct that most ofthe roster are stitt’s guys, but many some team leaders and several starters are not.

As to the 2020 comment, and the 3 year extension, I believe the Stitt/Jenson pairing is a perfect match and 3 years would align with Jenson’s playing career, which I believe will lead to a lot of success for the griz. I understand others who say give 1 year extensions, just my opinion. Furthermore, I’m a believer in program stability and don’t believe stitt’s results this season warrant a new regime.

As to”improvement on and off the field”, it was not meant as a slight at Delaney’s tenure, but based on stitt’s first two years versus this year. It appears team unity is improved, as is execution on the field: oline play, run game, TFL, sacks, big plays given up, kicking game. I also like that stitt’s offense is including h-backs,and possible true Te in the future.

As stated prior, stitt wasn’t my first choice, and I’ve had some frustrations like everyone, but there is a lot of positive thing going on as well. I’m really excited for the future of this program! Go Griz

Okay. I now get it. I’m good with all that. Thx for explaining.

PR, what are your thoughts on this topic...have to beat cats? 1 year, 3 year, new regime?

Don’t know. As I said in another post, losing to Cats, especially like last year, and not making playoffs would out Haslam in a tough position. Lots of pressure would be out on him. I suppose he may just continue to ride with horse he picked, take the considerable heat, and hope the team makes the playoffs next year. If Stitt didn’t survive, think Haslam wouldn’t either, under those circumstances.

Again, I think it will be moot, so that the subject can go mute, because the Griz will beat the Cats. I️ have been very concerned about the Cat game all season but now feel more confident. suspect the Cats feel some confidence too.

Some of you fans... 2 years screaming about how awful the O-line has been well into the start of this year. Now you are ready to throw the coach under the bus because next year we won't have DOLA, maybe.

We need stability within the program. Another round of new coaches at this time would set us back.
We beat the Cats ... the naysayers go silent ... or at least until the next loss :)

If UM were to lose to the Cats and not make the playoffs, both for the second year in a row, how would that be “trending upward”?

How many decades would we have to go back to find a comparable example? How would 2 years like that be trending upward from Delaney’s last 2 years of beating the Cats, going to the playoffs, and being ranked nos. 12 and 8 in the polls post-season. I have asked this question a half dozens times and haven't noticed a response. Everett, you have had a big mouth in this thread. Why don’t you explain this all to us?

I have a big mouth on the subject.

I've posted exactly twice. You've posted no fewer than 9 times.

Oh f***. You make this so hilariously easy.

Again, if you don't see the upward trend, you're either an a or a b. And yes, I talked at length with Kent yesterday. The pen is at the ready. Either get on the train or get your fat ass outta the way, cause you're about to get steamrolled.

It’s what you said, not the number of posts, that made you a big mouth on this subject.

Let’s see you explain your upward trend. Now, not next week.

I think the Griz will beat the cats, but if they don’t, there will be huge heat on Haslam. If had didn’t care about the cat game, he would have used his pen already. Like many of us, he’s waiting for cat game. His pen is ready because, like me, he thinks UM will beat the Cats. If you knew anything about the game, you would know this.

Also, what number of years is Haslam offering? Earlier this season it was apparently not 3 years.

You are joke in Griz athletics.

10-3. And as always, I say more substantively in one sentence than you do in 12 posts.

Agree the GRIZ will beat the cats. Can't decipher the rest of that 2nd grade paragraph structure.

Yeah, it's been my experience that the staff enjoys my sense of humor for sure.

I assume they are laughing at you because they know you know nothing about football and you don’t realize it.

You can’t understand because you don’t understand football or coaching, but you do try to suck up to them.

I am in the group of firing Stitt will set this program back, not help it. Stability is what is needed so he needs to stay. Did anyone of you watch the interview with Reese Phillips? He specifically talked about what Stitt changed about how he runs the offense this year vs. last. He has made adjustments to make if more effective. Defensively we will see if Semore can draw up something to handle Murray but we have the horses to beat the Cats and Jensen is head and shoulders above where Gus was last year. Not sure about the length but I think you have to bring him back

I agree also, we are not there yet but if you can't see the improvement then you wouldn't keep stitt no matter what. We not only have a young team but a fairly young staff overall.

Improvement from what? Please explain.

Last year
Exactly, thank you for proving my point.

So you two would offer a 3-year contract based on improving from 6-5 to 7-4, and losing to the Cats and not going to the playoffs both of those years? Okay, I get it.

By the way, I'm looking for much more improvement than that. A start would be getting back to being ranked nos. 12 and 8, like in Delaney's last 2 years.

I doubt that you have beaten many in anything. You're like Nixon in Viet Nam--when you've lost, you declare victory and leave. That is one of your favorites. What a joke.

Fact is simple... you don't extend stitt after this year and we get 2+ more years of the team being unranked.

Extend him and likely we spend next 3 years in the top 25

Hire Bobby three years ago and Montana would never have been out of the top 25, perhaps even the top 15. "Likely" three years in the top 25 is not what many people are looking for.

I could be wrong but pretty sure we declined Hauck's first year.

Put me down for the extension if he beats the kitties and explains why on kickoffs it only goes to the 10, every time.
We pray for touchbacks.

At least the Griz haven't kicked off to start the game and at the half for quite some time.

Regardless of the Cat game (which I think we will win), I would offer one year extension, 3 if we win and make the playoffs.

The Griz have shown great improvement compared to last year. This year the defense has gotten better the last half of the season - last year it imploded during the last half of the season. The offensive line is greatly improved, I think Germer deserves a lot of credit, meaning we can expect good things next year, despite the loss of our seniors.

Lastly, I think Jensen is something special and he runs Stitt's offense really well. He's going to rewrite some records. I feel pretty positive about the future and the last thing I would do now is start looking for a new coach.

I agree with everything here. People said this team would be 5-6 or 6-5 they have a good chance of 8-3
The defense has gotten better as the season goes along (positive sign) Offense has been very steady all year and putting up alot of points despite injuries (positive sign) team is very close this year and fight for each other and the staff (positive sign) Lots of rs frosh and soph contributing in a big way (positive sign)
A very good group of players that redshirted this year and what looks to be another great class this year (positive sign) Improved road record ( positive sign)
I don't know about the rest of you however I like what is building and want Stitt to be signed for a few more years atleast!

Extend. Jensen is a special talent and it will waste a least a year of his potential to change schemes.

Beat the damn cats & everything else will take care of itself, also if they somewhat CONTAIN MURRAY the Griz will win, if they don't could be a long day.
