UM football was never in danger of losing players had they gone to the championship game. O'Day just misinterpreted the initial email on the subject. The academic list for athletes that came out last month showed UM football in good shape, with only a half dozen or so players needing to make up credits to be eligible for the fall. This is normal or below the usual number at this time.

O'Day is looking good in the various emails I've looked at.

I never said UM was going to lose players for the championship game, you friggin' genius. Clearly it was stated in the emails that the UM would extend the deadline for academic issues until after the game, as they were allowed to do according to NCAA rules.

You're still everything that is wrong with the UM program, you jocksniffer.

I have to give Tokyo some props. Especially with all the grief that we gave him about lynch mobbing and witch hunting...What he has done (with these requests of info.) is what Florio, et. all should have done when they were initially covering the story! Find the facts, get both sides. I, for one, applaud his efforts, and actually doing some digging so everyone can be more informed.

I do have a personal problem with him. He plastered the name of a MPD officer who was involved in the tazing incident all over this board, and called for people here to call out that officer for his actions.

Tokyo is a loose cannon, he's a beggar who needed community money to visit Missoula (used the papers as well for his begging), and he's actually providing information detrimental to UM in his own personal lynch mob. If that's being negative ... oh well, I guess I'm negative. I think Tokyo, PlayerRep, and BWahlberg hurt more than they help.

NWF, as someone who grew up in Western Montana, I remember countless paper articles, ads, spread the word things, that asked communities to help a family. I am insulted you would call Tokyo, or any family, from Western Montana as beggars, for having bad luck.

Those of us who have not been in those situations, out of our own control, are fortunate to not have encountered a blow like that. Do you realize how many 1,000's of Montana families you are insulting with that kind of comment? If you don't like it, please stay as far away from Montana as possible, and feel free to denounce your Montana ties, or whatever.

I do agree, there are a lot of unfortunate situations in this world today. I have no empathy for parents that make stupid decisions with drugs, alcohol, abuse, not willing to work etc, women having kids just to get government support, guys fathering many kids, with different mothers, and being dead beats. I do not recall TG begging, but the article being about a tragic event they were part of. Big difference, and one I have empathy for. By the way, I do not think anyone is entitled to anything. I bust my ass every day, and do not rely on hand outs.

With that said, this is tough economic time for our country, and world. People are struggling more to take care of their responsibilities. 3 years ago, I lost a great paying job, because of this economy and corporate cutbacks. I was worried about losing a home, putting food on the table, and taking care of my responsibilities. I am seeing good hard working people lose jobs every day, not because of them being bad employees/workers, but because of decisions made by others, they have no control over. I see small businesses go out of business, not because of being a bad owner, but because they lose customers, and pay from tough times. Like it, or not, these are tough guys. Thank God, for the people that pull together in these tough times.

You're just pissed that these posters have the balls to do something other than just post on an anonymous message board. While I don't always agree with their opinions or methods, they have actually tried to do something they believe in. ("That takes guts and sometimes guts is enough") I suppose that by posting your negative drivel here you think you are doing some kind of community service. Dream on.

Information is a two edged sword..... After reading the Information Tokyo posted, its bcoming more clear that a "change in leadership" is exactly Engstrom's reasoning.

It appears to me that athletic department (especially football) was playing a ongoing game of wack a mole. The fact that even a bit of fear as to Engstroms reaction was present is significant. I'm sorry what everybody is hoping to find, still isn't found. The only way to quit playing wack a mole is to quit feeding tha machine quarters. This has never been about the kids.
