BOR contact is all well and fine, but the up coming Senate is where you cut the head off of the snake.

The appointment of Pat Williams to the Board of Regents (by Mr. Bobcat Brian Schweitzer) must be approved by the Republican controlled State Senate in the upcoming Session. Things are going to get very interested, methinks.

And, no more Schweitzer. Lets get Bullock on board.

talked to Bullock at the carpenters hall a couple months ago and his is definitely a Griz fan!!
Talked to him in Bozeman in October. He was definitely a Cat fan that day FWIW.

I have emailed the regents my displeasures and have gotten two responses.

Krauss did not agree with my displeasure and supports Engstrom. Of course he does he is a MSU grad!

Williams says Regents know much more detail about all that has gone on. No Williams did not discuss any details. Williams did say he understands the 6% drop in enrollment with parents and students concerns with the fears that have come along with being in Missoula and UM.

Mr. Williams says the Engstrom did not cause the negative press and that was done by a few athletes. Mr. Williams also said that the change Engstrom made had been needed for a long time!

Question shouldn't there be an equal number of regents say 3 from UM and 3 from MSU with maybe one person that is a neutral party? BOR seems heavy on MSU folks or people from east of he divide.
More than any time in recent history, the BOR seems comprised of individuals supporting a particular school within the Montana University System. That's not a good thing. We don't need a UM regent or an MSU regent. We need regents who manage the system and let the chips fall where they may.

Thats a pretty big statement, I assume you have specific, concrete examples?
It's really not that big of a statement. I'm not saying the the board as as a whole favors a particular school if that's what you're inferring, I'm not saying the majority supports one school over another. I do think individual regents advocate for spefic schools.

Trust me he is a Griz. Born in Missoula and spent alot of his youth there. His knowledge of the players, coaches and Griz in general really surprised me. It was more than just political talk, it's obvious he is a fan.

Steve Bullock is a HUGE Griz fan. Take it to the bank.

I am sure you're right in stating that Bullock is a "huge" Griz fan....I bet that if you asked Engstrom the same question he would say that he's a "huge" Griz fan also....perhaps that is why they are both advocating (along with Pat Williams) a change of direction from the current state of Griz football whose troubles were brought on by a few football players....it looks like the BOR is backing Engstrom all the way until the culture changes....unlike this fan board; they can see the Big Picture!!! Griz football will be just fine...just not right away!!!!

I'll send you a pm when I have time.

Teton, for once I sort of agree with you, except I'm curious to know what your definition of "right away" is...If you mean the Griz won't be just fine for winter condo or even spring ball, I might tend to agree. If you mean the 2013 season, I'[ll have to beg to differ. The Griz will be very salty next season, AS LONG AS, the quarterback position is at the very least adequate. The Griz are JUST FINE at every other position, and have as much depth as every other position as they've always had. And before you go and rattle off that you were talking about NCAA sanctions, just check yourself because your Bozeman sources (Papa G) are so far off base it's hilarious.

You're so full of shit I can smell you from here.

NO ONE, and particuarlly not Bullock or Engstrom has suggested a change of direction in the FB program. President Engstrom has stated -- and I for one am happy he has -- that he won't condone players who have off-the-field issues. That's only a change in direction if you feel that the program as a whole has off the field issues. I don't. And neither does anyone else not wearing those ugly-assed colors from Junior College U.

Further proof that Williams is an imbecile (not that we needed any more proof). He believes the change made by Engstrom had been needed for a long time. Hmmm, Pflu had only been the head coach for two seasons. Sure sounds like that was a long term problem. He then hired a new HC from within the same program that needed so badly to change. He then hired a new AD from within the same program that needed so badly to change. Wow, really headed in a new direction now. Both Williams and Engstrom need to move on, the few brains cells they have just are not functioning any more. Maybe there is a community college somewhere that they could destroy.

I dont see anywhere close to the depth on the 2013 team that Bobbys teams had

??? Did you read the bios?
Regents with MSU background:
Todd Buchanan -
He graduated from Montana State University-Bozeman with a bachelor of science in business marketing.

Jeffrey Krauss -
Krauss is the director of finance and administration for the Museum of the Rockies ... Krauss has a B.S. in business administration from Montana State University

Joseph Thiel (Student Regent) -
Joseph Thiel has been an active member and leader in many student clubs and organizations since arriving at the MSU-Bozeman campus in 2008
Note student regent is a 1 year post, and switches among the Montana campuses every year

Regents with UM background:
Angela McLean (Chair) -
Angela McLean continued her education at Western Montana College in Dillon, Montana earning her Broadfield Social Studies degree in 1994. In 2000, Angela earned her Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Montana.

Pat Williams -
Following his retirement from Congress, Williams taught at the University of Montana, and is an O’Connor Center Senior Fellow Emeritus ... Williams attended the University of Montana, William Jewell College and the University of Denver

regent with background from both:
Paul Tuss -
Paul served as a member of the President’s Advisory Council for the University of Montana and as an Advisory Board member for the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana. He served as a member of the Cabinet for the MSU-Northern Foundation’s Capital Campaign and was a member of the Presidential Search Committee for Montana State University that resulted in Dr. Waded Cruzado becoming President of MSU. ... he is a graduate of the University of Montana

That seems about as balanced as you can get, I don't understand this complaint?

However, what does it mean that Pat Williams listed colleges he attended, but doesn't say where he received a degree? He has to have a degree, right?

Don't you think it's about time you pull your head out of your arse?

I just dropped them a line telling them they are doing a wonderful job, keep up the good work, and definitely keep RE and MD in place. :thumb:
