Blake Criswell?

Swillbury

Well-known member
OK, here are a few actual stumpers for you: Who won the 2002 Sun Bowl basketball tournament? Who are the reigning kings of the Jim Thorpe Classic? And who earned Most Valuable Player honors in the 2005 Drake Regency Challenge?

If you didn't answer UAB, New Mexico and Montana guard Blake Criswell, don't beat yourself up. Not even The Schwab could answer those correctly. November and December are so full of Shootouts, Challenges, Classics and Festivals that it's impossible for anybody to keep all 36 "champions" straight.

This one just shows that most of the people at ESPN probably think Montana is part of Canada or something. That's kind of disrespectful to Criswell, IMO. He's a great player; the least ESPN could do is get his name right. For crying out loud, pay attention, ESPN. I've seen times when the Cats were playing at Washington St. when they were ranked in FB and they put up the Grizzly logo next to the Cougar logo. There's a difference, folks. I bet all of you would really love it if you were playing a game with highlights and they put up the Bobcat logo to introduce your team. I thought their TV segment wasn't great last summer and they should have talked about the biggest sports in Montana: the Bobcats and the Grizzlies.

Excuse my ranting about ESPN. Criswell deserves to have his name printed correctly in an article, I think.

Good points boz. One would think that getting names and spelling correct would be Journalism 101.

Not at ESPN and definitely not in Montana either. Have you watched the nightly keystone cops routine on any local news station?!!

Note the article has been updated and the name is now correctly "Kevin". Perhaps people in the know at ESPN read eGriz??
