Tackle and wrap up. Old fashioned tackling that will make the runner or receiver's ancestors feel the tackle.
Not the stupid arm or strip tackling where the runner or receiver gets an extra 5-20 yards while we are trying to strip the ball.
Hard tackling will cause turnovers and cause the runner or receiver to be somewhat hesitant.

That's what i was saying while watching the past few games... Stop going for the ball everytime... just hit them hard and wrap up... they will cough it up if we just HIT THEM WITH ATHORITY. the turnovers will come

Ball carriers now days know to just hold tight and keep your feet moving you will end up 5yds downfield while guys pull at the ball. I would bet teams across college football are averaging 150yds giving up per stripped ball!

Drives me f*ing crazy to see this! Back in "the day" ,failure to hit hard and wrap up would earn you a spot next to the coach handing out water bottles.

THIS.

Ah. The old "end, guard, tackle" position. End of the bench, guard the water and tackle anyone that comes near it.

I actually played "center, guard, tackle" position. The end was already taken.

I played six man, so they couldn't bench me...or we wouldn't have enough kids to play!
