Big Sky

Big Sky has been the best conference for the last couple years. NDSU are the dominant program in FCS but it helps that they play 1 FBS exhibition game every year or two and then get to rest against YSU, NIU, SDSU and the rest of the MVC cake walk. SDSU just lost t0 USD who we beat before we even figured out how to play. NIU has never beaten us, that I can think of, play-offs or otherwise. Youngstown were really good in the 90's, Illinois State had one good year and have one good player. The mighty Bison almost lost to UCD who we beat like they stole something. You are the Champs until proven otherwise but your conference schedule is a joke.

LOL....NDSU played and beat 4 playoff teams this year.

Last 5 years, three different MVFC teams have played in Frisco. Besides the three to play in it, you have SDSU who has had the luxury of running into NDSU deep in the playoff. How many from the Big Sky have played in the championship game this last decade? How many championships? Hell, name all the Big Sky teams that have played in the semi finals.

There are more playoff wins by MVFC teams this decade than any other conference. Besides EWU, which program has had sustained success in the playoffs recently?

You do realize that SDSU lost their starting QB and their All American running back right? Illinois State lost their starting QB and arguably their second best offensive player in Jeff Procter. Injuries do happen but they have been detrimental to those teams. When healthy, do you really think any Big Sky team beats SDSU?
Sorry, I'm confused. SDSU has traditionally beaten up on the Griz, but there is no record of it? When has SDSU ever beaten the Griz? What the holy hell are you talking about. The Griz play in the Big Sky and so yeah, I guess I can say that when healthy or sick or tired or asleep, at least one Big Sky team can beat SDSU. Are you telling me you think the Griz are hands down the best team in the Big Sky? If not then presumably MSU or WSC or Sac St would also beat them. Do you even have cable? I know you claim to live in Missoula and given Fargo, nobody blames you but wow.

Tradition tells me that in the playoffs, the Big Sky has really underperformed.

You didn’t answer my question. How many Big Sky teams have played in the championship game this decade? How many championships does the Big Sky lay claim to this decade? How many teams have played in the semi finals this decade?

We shouldn’t pick on 2011BisonAlumni, who has, himself, admitted (a) he is only one person, (b) that he got his certificate in 2012, and (c) that he is a fat and a dumb.

MVC is Charmin soft. BSC is the best conference this year. Anyone who doesn’t outwardly admit that he’s a dumb knows it.

I would say that the Big Sky is the premier conference this year.
All four teams are seeded...3,4,5, and 6!

All four teams have next to no chance at winning the championship.

MVFC was still the best conference this year. Without the horrible injuries that occurred late in the season, SDSU is ranked 3rd and Illinois State is seeded.

Obviously, your conference was the only one with injuries. Who cares that the Griz QB, who was on pace for an all-american season, got a high ankle sprain and surgery, and the best receiver, who will play in the NFL, is out. Or, that the best player for the Cats was out and didn't play at all yesterday.

How many of the good MV teams beat any of the good Big Sky teams this year?

Pretty big difference. UM’s QB missed two games....and the fact is the Griz were down by 25 when he got hurt in the Sac State game and he played the entire game against MSU.

I’m not saying the Big Sky isn’t good. I’m saying the fact they have 4 seeded teams is almost entirely due to two MVFC teams suffering really bad injuries at the worst time of the year.

For the majority of the season, you had 4 MVFC team ranked in the top 10 and several weeks with three teams ranked in the top 5.

except when it mattered most

Which MV team was afraid to play an FBS team this year?

Sagarin rankings still have MVFC as the highest rated FCS conference.

Afraid? Definitely not NDSU. FBS teams will not schedule them. Hell, they have tried to schedule multiple games against SEC opponents and they have been shot down.

They have had to now go to the PAC 12 for future games.

It had no bearing on the team’s performance no. They got beat throughly in the trenches.

SDSU’s QB definitely has cost them games. They have played up and down dependent on QB play. Same goes for Illinois State.

BTW...MVFC was 6-3 against the Big Sky this year. The Big Sky seeded teams had the luxury of not having to play NDSU or SDSU early in the year. Weber State also had the luxury of playing UNI at home.

Yes, Weber State beat UNI.

Does one game have any bearing on an entire conference discussion? No

Higher Sagarin rating. MVFC. Season series winner. MVFC.

All this doesn’t matter. For as good as you think the Big Sky is, they still do not have a team who will compete with the best that the MVFC or CAA has to offer.

You guys get the luxury year in and year out of playing really dogshit teams in that conference. The top is always solid, but the depth is weak....and it routinely shows up in the playoffs when the Big Sky paper tigers can’t get it done.

Let me ask you this. Do you think the Big Sky has one team who will beat either NDSU or JMU?

Overall the MVFC was 6-3 against the Big Sky

Did any of the Big Sky teams beat any seeded MVFC teams? No.

Did any Big Sky playoff teams beat MV playoff teams, or vice versa? That is the question. Why can't just you just answer questions? You bob and weave, but you aren't going to be able to get away with that with me.

Your conference was weak this year too. NDSU has been super for years, but without NDSU, the MV conference wouldn't even be a top 3 conference. It's a one team conference, like the Big Sky used to be. The CAA is a one team conference.

Hey, dummy. The topic is the MV this year. How many MV seeded teams beat Big Sky seeded teams this year? How many MV teams lost to seeded Big Sky teams this year?

Which MV team was afraid to play an FBS team this year?

Sagarin rankings still have MVFC as the highest rated FCS conference.

Afraid? Definitely not NDSU. FBS teams will not schedule them. Hell, they have tried to schedule multiple games against SEC opponents and they have been shot down.

They have had to now go to the PAC 12 for future games.

Are you afraid to answer the question about how the seeded MV team or teams did against the seeded Big Sky teams this year?

In the Sagarin, 4 of the top 100 teams are from the Big Sky. 3 of the MV teams are in top 100.

If you are bragging about the bottom teams of the MV being better than the bottom teams of the Big Sky, have at it.

Weber State played UNI at home.
Montana played USD who was trash this year
Montana State played Western Illinois who was by far the worst MVFC team this year and won by 9
Sac State did not play a MVFC team

Why are you so bent out of shape that your conference isn’t as good as ours? It shouldn’t matter to you.

Your team still is the odds-on favorite to win the title, so why do you care so much that you’re on egriz.com on a Sunday night arguing with Griz fans about hypothetical bullshit?

Those MVFC teams could go 0-3 in the playoffs, and it wouldn’t make your championship any less legitimate.

NDSU is still the prettiest girl at the ball, it’s just that the rest of the MVFC is a little down this season, and the Big Sky has stepped up to fill the void.

Relax.

I meant to say 6-4 earlier

Let me ask you this. Do you think the Big Sky has one team who will beat either NDSU or JMU?

4 teams that could beat JMU, just like the Griz did in about 2008, on the road in the semi at JMU when JMU was ranked No. 1. Probably not NDSU, but they aren't as good as they usually are either.
