When does the Big Sky volleyball preseason poll come out?

Is volleyball a significant sport at Montana?

At UND, we have a great coach and a really good core of players as well as new recruits. Hoping that average attendance will be well over 1000 in Grand Forks, especially considering that this will be our first shot at the NCAAs. Volleyball gets significant crowds in the Upper Midwest, with schools like Northern Iowa, Creighton, Minnesota, Nebraska all getting crowds well over 3000 routinely. The talent base in the Midwest is good too, almost as good as California and Hawaii.

UND has a really tough non-conference schedule lined up to toughen the team up for the conference season:

vs Southern Cal to open the season (last year's semifinalist)
at Texas A&M -
vs Texas St
at Ole Miss
vs Rice

It's not a huge spectator sport at UM, they play in the auxiliary gym in the field house and get a few spectators but not close to a thousand. The best team in the conference is usually Sacramento State. Good luck!

Thanks for the response! The Sioux Center at UND is an ideal volleyball venue, so that helps the sport a lot.

Looked up the NCAA history. While Sac St has dominated volleyball, Portland St and UNC have alternated winning the last four Big Sky championships. UND was easily ranked higher than both of them in computer ratings, but this is a new season. UND's goal is to be a top 20 or better team, like some other mid-major Midwest schools (Northern Iowa).
