I’m sorry, but I’m not buying the Tommy Mellott hype, especially behind that really young O-line. That O-line is gonna be about as young as our 2018 line was. It also doesn’t help that it looks like they’re gonna be without Ifanse for September, maybe longer, but they’ll go as far as that oline takes them.

The sad part too is there’s cat fans that think this oline will be better then last years, and that could not be further from the truth. Kidd, Tuiasosopo, and Redd were all-conference players, plus TJ Sessions was really good too.

Not buying the hype. They’re still just riding the wave from the natty appearance.

😂😂😂 I can’t wait for this season to get underway. The Tommy Mellot hype is real and O line will surprise. The team is deep. Book it!

Well of course. You don’t earn Preseason National Champion rankings without being deep, now do you?

As for Merlot, let’s just say most are taking a wait and see approach.

I agree, wait and see.

TD Tommy was super good when he got his chance last year, but I'm not a believer that he will be able to sustain that high level of play. And be healthy. Of course, I don't know. And, I didn't think TA had truly great speed or would be drafted in the 2d round, or be a day one starter. I hope TA's apparent recent move from 2d to 3d on the depth chart (if true), isn't a sign that his team is starting to think: oh shit, we should have listened to the Big Sky coaches and egriz, who said he hadn't played LB enough to know how to play the position so his learning curve would be longer than expected.

Such a shame he will not fulfill his full potential. Would have been an All Conference receiver with the Griz.

I have watched Bobcat QBs for many many years. He is going to be up there and may exceed Lulay and McGhee. This Falll camp has been an eye opener when it comes to him. He is special. Yes, bring it on for my comments.

No question he is gifted...and, would have been an All conference - maybe even - All American WR for the Griz. Probably up there like Cooper Kupp!

Tommy Mellot is special.

I too like Mellott as a fan of a Montana kid etc.....however, to ask him to run the ball 15 times a game and then counting all the hits when he is passing is a bit much....he will never stay healthy for 11 games....

He'd stay a lot healthier catching 15 balls a game for the Griz. He is best in space - especially when it is cold and loud. I do think he can kick as well.

There's a reason he's not called "Tommy Handoff" or "Tommy the Gunslinger" He's special but not indestructible. He's not as big and durable as the last 3 running QB's so the OC better call less RPO's and insist he hand the ball off more.

Tommy Mellot is special.

He will fail like the soph he is...

For all the praise he got he has only 4 TD's and 484 yards passing in his career
He has run the ball well but that's what got him hurt
Coaches have film and he will take a large step backwards

Eastern will fall off if they don’t do what they have done for like the last two decades, have a great QB fall in their lap

How about 25 runs or 34 even. In his three playoff starts where he played more then one series, he averaged 25 carries a game with a whopping 34 vs SDSU in the semis. He was probably already hurt before the NDSU game even started. His passing stats? He averaged 8 completions of 15 attempts in those 3 games.

No receiver from the Big Sky is like Kupp, nor will any BS receiver ever be. A once in a lifetime receiver for the conference.

Yep. I've never been happier seeing an opposing player finally run out of eligibility.

I agree. Was just playing off the "may exceed Lulay and McGhee" comment by our cat friend. My hyperbole > his hyperbole.

He has gotten bigger over the off season. Also, in fall camp they have him running very little. His passing has been a surprise. He was making all the throws and accuracy is good. I saw him throw a lot of really nice long passes over the course of Fall camp. I think what separates him is his ability in making quick decisions. That is where he is special.

Sounds like you’ll only have him this year and next before he declares for the draft. Top 10, you think?

What I don’t get about egriz, is the constant hate against guys whom have played for MSU and make the NFL. I get there are some MSU fans on here that instigate no matter what, but for anybody to hate on Troy or Lance confuses me. Getting drafted as a kid from Montana is rare. You guys have had multiple guys in the last 15 years that have played in the NFL and they all preformed well. Kroy, Mark, Shan, Colt, and Tuff. Your guys and our guys should be celebrated every day all day. Now, I will instigate other stuff that is about the current season or bullshit topics, because hell it’s sports/rivals board and I love it.

Does anybody know if Bobby pissed on any of his relatives hats this year? I hope not, because that’s assault these days.
