Current RPIs:

GRIZ: 109

NAU: 116

Weebs: 186

MSU: 190

UNC: 198

ISU: 221

PSU: 272

Ewoo: 322

Sac: 345

Others of note:

Portland: 41
UCLA: 77
Oregon St: 301

Incidentally, Sac State has the worst RPI in the country. DEAD LAST. 345th out of 345. There are 4 BSC teams in the bottom third of the RPI. That's simply unnaccaptable. The Conference has to find a way to get those teams to at least the 200 mark.

North Carolina has an RPI of 29. Why does it say 198? Directional Colorado is ranked 198 right now.

Aside from the Griz and NAU those RPI numbers are crap, and being in the Big Sky where the teams usually do a great job of beating each other up, those lower RPI numbers wont get any higher. If the Griz can win out (which in the Big Sky is incredibly hard near to impossible to do) they can probably get into the low 90's or maybe even the high 80's. With a loss or 2 the Griz can still make the 90's, Other than that I dont think anybody else breaks the top 99.

Southern Utah 257
North Dakota 332

It's gonna get worse before it gets - no, it's just gonna get worse.

I hadn't heard the "Directional Colorado" before, that one actually gave me a little chuckle

I HATE the RPI! This is how ridiculous it is: Oregon State should not be that low, they beat a top 50 Arizona last night, moving them from 301 to 262.

ESPN finally got it right and said today what I've been saying for years regarding the RPI: It's patently unfair to the mid-majors.

The RPI and selection process are simply unfair: The RPI is based on wins, but it does not factor in the lopsided scheduling of the power-six teams. Eighty-four percent of all power-six nonconference games are played either at home or at a neutral site. They visit the non-power-six schools only 9 percent of the time based on a review of all power-six conference schedules. The other 7 percent is played versus other power-six opponents. How can the mid-majors possibly earn better rankings and NCAA tourney seeding with an unfair scheduling environment? The NCAA should mandate that power-six schools play a minimum of two games at mid-major sites each season.

Also worth noting in the same column:

Two teams worth watching some more: Montana and Montana State are both 2-0 in the Big Sky. Both held serve at home against preseason favorite Weber State and preseason contender Northern Arizona. Montana now looks like the favorite in the league, while its cross-state rival is a legitimate dark horse.

Thats exactly whats happening here in Utah, the University of Utah hasnt even left for the Pac 10 and are already breaking ties with 2 of thier long time rivals Utah State and Weber State. Not long ago Utah came out and said that after thier return trip to Ogden in 2011 that they will discontinue the home and home rivalry with Weber State, but would love to "host" the Wildcats in the future. Later in the year Utah came out and said they will not return to Logan to take on the Aggies in 2012, Utah State then came out and said that unless Utah returns in 2012, Utah State will not travel to Salt Lake in 2011. The funny thing is they said they will continue the BYU rivalry, even though BYU will now play in a "Mid-Major Conference".

What a sad state of affairs.

Didn't Fullerton, a couple of years ago, mandate that Conference schools go out and up their schedule to get the conference rank up so it looked better at tourney time?

That's why he brought in RPI bottom feeders UND and SUU.

We already have the lowest RPI team in the country in Sad Sac State, why not throw a couple more shrimp on the old BBQ?

Yes.

And actually, Sac's schedule is pretty decent. They've played Oklahoma, WSU, LMU, Utah Valley. Their problem is they have zero DI wins.

There is no reason to worry about RPI. Whoever wins the conference will either be undefeated, or will have lost a few games and will still ultimately play a team that they have a decent chance of beating. When the ncaa tourney deciders are trying to find a spot for a 23-7 (give or take) team from the BSC they want to find a sellable match for the first round, not necessarily a gimme win. Which is good for us.
