Big Sky results in the CIT

Potomac Griz

Well-known member
Big Sky goes 0-3 in the CIT

San Diego, who went 7-11 in the WCC destroyed PSU 87-65.

Basketball powerhouse Nebraska-Omaha who went 5-9 in the Summit League beat UND 91-75

And last but certainly not least the juggernaut known as Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (#251 in RPI from a conference that's actually worse than the Big Sky, the Southland) beat UNC in Greely in front of 953 people by 11.

:puke:

With the list of teams in the CIT this year, I have to wonder if maybe the Griz could have won a game or two if we hosted some CIT games. It wasn't exactly the strongest CIT field this year... Any official reason as to why we didn't? Did we get offered a CIT invite and turned it down? Or did one not get offered?

Does anybody know if the Griz turned it down or if they got an invite?

I dont see why you wouldnt want to keep playing, seniors get to keep playing and you also get some more playing time with your younger players, I could have seen the Griz make some noise in the CIT, too bad they didnt get in/turned it down.

Hopes for Weber to show up and do well...

As for the others who went down to mid major malaise.....sigh!

More like the Big Suck. Terrible showings by these three teams. Embarrassing. Here's hoping Weber doesn't do the same.

Won't bode well for future post season invites. Will next year initiate a first round play in for conf. Champ to make field of 64?

Still hoping for a purple upset to get some cred!

Playing in the play in game can be better financially. It is worth 1 unit. If you win and go to the opening round, it's 2 units earned.

The CIT results show exactly why Weber State is a 16 seed. Our conference screwed them more than they screw themselves. I pray the good Weber State team shows up against AZ.

It looks like the CIT does take into account conference tourney results other than the auto-bid. UM had the highest RPI and best overall record in the BSC outside of Weber State (UNC also had a better overall record but lower RPI). However, I'm assuming the Griz didn't get an invite because they finished 4th in the BSC's regular season standings and were eliminated in the first round of the conference tourney. UND, PSU, and UNC all won at least one BSC tourney game.

Weber helped make the conference look bad as much as anybody else in the BSC did :|

Weber looked pretty pathetic at times this year as did every bigsky team. The bigsky teams all have one or two really standout players with horrible teammates. When the stars have bad nights....the team looks terrible. Look at weber who do they have....two good players? Bolomboy and Berry. Than nobody. Some young players will be good in a yer or two. But bigsky depth is what it is and quite frankly it would be better for a team to play on Tue night and have a good chnace to win. Rather than Thursday at noon and get shalacked by Arizona or cuse
