Tribute to the Big Sky refs which suck!

I bag on the refs about as much as everyone, so I must give credit where credit is due. The crew for our home game last Saturday was pretty decent. They let a lot go under the hoop, but they let it go on both sides of the ball, so you can't ask for much more.

I work in a school system and am constantly being begged to ref by desperate ADs. I absolutely hate it. How it's so emotional it is for parents, fans alike that want to scapegoat refs never blaming their kids or the players they follow. I never hear anybody on here say "I am an MOA or UOA (U for Utah) and even I think refs sucked". I sit around people all the time that are all over the refs and don't even know rules such as no ten second call in women's basketball or you have to be across mid court line with all three points before there's a violation or what designates a traveling when a player with the ball falls to the floor. Most fans think that if it's an opponent falling to floor with the ball it's an automatic travel.

Certainly Big Sky refs make mistakes probably more so than higher conferences just as players from Big Sky don't make the pros very often as they're coming from a conference thats usually ranked about 21st in the nation. Why should Big Sky refs be relatively that much better than their players. If the quality reffing really bothers you out and get your MOA credentials or whatever it's called in Utah. Then use it as stepping stone to clean up college basketball if it's so bad like a lot people seem to think.

Yeah, but then people wouldn't be able to complain as much, and you know how much people like to complain...

:?: I was out of position, What was going on when AJ got called for three (2 maybe as one was called on CET in the same spot on the floor) offensive fouls pretty close together(right in front of MT bench. Must have been fairly ligit as not a lot of action in response from the bench. 3 of six turnovers were offensive fouls. :?:

I was in a little better position to see Qvale get assaulted under the basket fairly violently one time, no call was the result, not really complaining but every possession was big time Thursday.( I am not sure that there was a foul and I guess there was not because no one called it but it did kinda hamper Qvales minutes and I would have preferred to get the call.
