Big Sky Officiating Thread

You don't think this happens?
Apparently not effectively.
I've had multiple experienced officials empathize consistency on both sides and to NOT go away from how an event is being called. Every officiating crew sets their own precedence. Big officials apparently don't apply that principle very often. If they did, inconsistency would be minimized.

Sounds like you got all the answers then.

More answers than those who don't care. Sorry, if I expect more from. DIV 1 officiating. The fact that many here don't care, yet still will complain about officiating is as frustrating and maddening as the officiating.

Sorry for trying to make things better for the Big Sky Conference teams and fans!

You idiots win, SCREW IT!!!

I guess I’ve never viewed it as any reffing crew “setting precedence” by NOT flagging something that they flag later. What actually possesses a ref to throw a flag one time and not another we’ll probably never know.

Sorry if I was taught in the military and fortune 500 companies, if there's a problem, it's easier to address and resolve with possible solutions!

I realize this is a still shot and doesn't tell the whole story, but as 56 tries to cut back to his left, I believe he gets held, albeit briefly. Maybe he gets to Lamson, maybe not but I'd say it certainly impeded his progress.
Like I said in another thread this happened all day. This is classic NDSU technique and they do it until called for a third time.

Gregorak & Tripp thought the refs were good & commented on how they let them play. Akem agreed. There were some brutal hits out there from both teams, as there should be, and they let them play. Haven't heard from Colter yet but bet he agrees. Less flags makes for a much better game. You're not doing your fan base any good complaining about the refs.

Considering they're next to never critical and constantly complimenting everything, that's not proving much other than they lean to side of caution.

Sammy's opinion is based on following the book to the T. Apparently not many here are aware establishing precedences in officiating of sports.

It's exactly why teams see what they can or cannot do early. Exactly why teams hold within reasonable means until officiating start calling the penalties.

There's no right or wrong way on questionable violations. If the crew goes by the book, apply the damn penalties continuously. If they prefer to only call only egregious violations, then let the minor crap slide all game.

It's really not difficult to understand.
