I've long been a proponent of doing away with officials for targeting/non-targeting calls and making the game more interactive for fans:

Text A for targeting
Text B for no call
Text C for uneccessary roughness
Text D for Bobcats Suck

It would take away the guesswork for officials who cannot understand the rule, and increase fan interest in the games. Something for the kids.

Nah, they need to start at the top. There are plenty of good college (NAIA) officials that are good enough for the Big Sky but they aren't part of the good ole boys club.

There's a term in some industries when it comes to dealing with decision makers of authority: Poisoning the well. When it comes to BSC officials, it might be more Pavlovian in nature...
