Bruinig (spelling cause you don't care) won MVP.

Olequin (spelling again because I am doing this at a bar, and you all don't care) Defensive player of the year

Tyler Hall (I can get that right) Freshman of the Year

Had to do some digging to figure out where you got that info. Looks like those are the "Skyline Sports" awards, not the official Big Sky awards. Still pretty neat though.

Breunig & Bolomboy as co-MVP
Oguine the defensive player of the year.

Breunig was also 1st team, Wright 2nd team and Oguine honorable mention.
 
The awards really shouldn't come out till the regular season is over with. I think the Griz should win the title outright as EWU will probably handle Weber. I feel the biggest question is whether Travis will get ripped-off two years in a row. If he does there should be an investigation. Tyler Hall definitely deserved the freshman of the year. I think Breunig deserves the MVP outright. Marcus Colbert should be on one of the teams somewhere. Gfeller will get honorable mention although he's playing a better all-around game but like your typical shooter still erratic. Just one person's opinion. If scoring is weighed in more than assists, Wright will only make the second team.

You think Gfeller gets a nod anywhere? Maybe, I guess maybe I just don't notice the entire game he has. I don't think he has done enough for even HM this year. I will probably be wrong as I usually am about this stuff, and maybe he makes me change my mind today. We shall see.

Love the fact that Oguine is a top defender as a true Freshman. Is it possible for him to be a 4 time Conference Defensive POY? Has any player in Big Sky history accomplished that? My guess, that has never been done!!! If Oguine can prove to run the offense consistently from PG, he has NBA potential.

Breunig is an absolute stud. If Big Sky officiating were better, imagine how many more points and rebounds this guy would have?

Gfeller will get honorable mention. The 3 pt shot is a huge part of the game today, and he has had some pretty huge games because of it. I just wish he were more consistent game to game. One game he hits 60% plus from 3 with 4 to 7 made 3's. The next hits 0 or 1. Good thing, the GRIZ have Moorehead backing him up. Moorehead is every bit the shooter and better at penetrating. Moorehead is not quite the defender Gfeller is. Gfeller's defense gets lost in the shuffle because of his shooting.

The conference is loaded at guard talent. I feel Wright gets 2nd team. 1st team would be really pushing it.

I think Bobby will be a better overall player than Gfeller when all is said and done. He's already a better rebounder and I don't think he is far off on the defensive side. He's better at taking a defender off the dribble. I guess maybe that's part of the reason I think Gfeller may not get HM. But, again, I am usually wrong on these sort of things.

Can make a good argument for him but I wouldn't rule out your boy. He turned your team around rapidly from the disappointment of last season and you won the regular season. I think Rahe gets it, fair or not.

Agreed on both accounts...

Hall and Evans should be locks...

MVP should be interesting, probably goes to Bolomboy or MB (possibly share it, like Havey and MM SHOULD have last year), with an outside shot to Jois, although Telfair at ISU wont win but can at least make a case...

Not at all...It was skyline sports list, not mine. I think the Big Sky got them all correct.
