Big Sky going to 9 game schedule

The most common-sense solution (in my opinion) is get to 14 teams, split into two 7-team divisions, and each division plays a round robin to determine a conference winner in each division. Each division winner gets an autobid to the playoffs.

I really miss the round-robin format we used to play before we added the Great West teams.

Somebody do the research on starting a new conference. Maybe one of you all-world lawyer types that has nothing better to do ought to make a run at starting a new conference. The obvious conference should be:

Montana
Montana State
Idaho
Idaho State (They'd need to be committed to stepping up their game in this new conference)
North Dakota
NDSU
South Dakota
SDSU

And then one more of: EWU or WSU or perhaps Wyoming gets in were they fit in.

8 Conference games - 4 home, 4 road. a bye week and two outta conference.

Less directional schools - instant street cred even among the FBS. And would be in a position to take the whole conference to FBS if the stars aligned.

Hockey is the only big question to work thru here.
That would be a brutal conference.

is there any way that the Dakota schools would actually leave the Valley?

Noooooooo waaaaaayyyyyy. FAR too valuable from a basketball perspective, something that always gets overlooked. The bsc is a complete joke in football, but it's much, much worse in basketball, which is really hard to do.

They aren't actually in the valley for basketball, though. I think this would be a legit basketball conference with the teams involved.

And I think the BSC is actually better than the Summit teams...which was what you were thinking of....One of the best players in the league...Lillard...came out of the BSC

The only thing shitty about our conference now is the localized tourney in Reno...where 500 fans show up.....that is a freaking joke.

A Conference receiving 2 autobids to the playoffs will never happen.
