Here's the video walk-through of the $44million facility Wyoming is building, starting next week. Going to be pretty sweet.

It looks like Weber State is actually stepping up and adding a new facility onto their football stadium. Good to see they're actually trying.

Weber has actually been trying for many years now, its just been in the form of baby steps due to lack of funds.

Stewart Stadium and the program has come a long way in just the last ten-ish years.

a. Brand new Scoreboard with a large screen
b. Brand new stadium lights
c. Brand new artificial turf
d. Brand new weight rooms
e. Brand new indoor practice facility
f. Improved the cosmetics on the stadium
g. permanent bathrooms above the eastern side

The "Gateway project" is the next step in upgrading the overall look and feel of Stewart Stadium. But that's not all, there is also talk about removing the track and even building a permanent parking structure outside the north endzone.

There will also be changes to the stadium itself. Due to building the stadium on a fault line the east side of the stadium is going to have to be replaced, but as a part of that there is talk that when they do replace it to expand the stadium itself into a horseshoe like stadium closing off the southern side of the stadium similar to what MSU and Utah State have. Granted this is mostly talk about stuff in the future but it is being discussed which means that someone believes something big is going to happen to the college football landscape and Weber wants to be a part of the bigger picture.

Certainly the bigger picture is to get fans to show up to the games, but winning is the best remedy for that.

I thought projects like this in Utah generally get funding easily..no???? All the Mormon money generally steps in I thought?

We are not BYU, our money does not come from the Church, it comes from private donors and some of it also comes from the money we have made from playing FBS opponents.

No i understand that...I guess i just assumed weber would have a lot of well off mormon donors for some reason.

Perhaps you didn't hear that the Big Sky has Championships? The Griz have few of those too...

I did hear that, but they don't matter to me, I look at national championships, and the number a university won as a true measure of athletic peak greatness-

Big sky championships to me don't really measure up to much, ( I mean it is the big sky ) being a national champion is what is impressive to myself-

Great number until you control for NAIA tie game "Championships"; Division II Championships; 40 non-NCAA rodeo trophies; Being retroactively named a national basketball champion by a couple of guys 60-plus years after the fact; 13 Skiing Championships (against 12 other Div. I programs).

The only NCAA Division I title in a non-esoteric sport would be the "alleged" 1984 1AA Football Championship. To my knowledge, no one has actually provided non-doctored photographic evidence of said event.

Champions of stadiums and facilities! Congrats

Thanks that's quite nice of you to say so. Why would someone with the ugliest High School Stadium in
the country mention, anything about facilities. There's just no excuse for ignorance.

careful ursa, next your going to count all the lower division wins you have against MSU, but if only division 1 wins count, well u know...

fact is--   U of M is still 1 and 0 against Helena high

what way you want it :?:
