Big Sky ESPN Games Prediction

It's not really a secret that Montana has been keeping the BSC alive for decades. If we ever make the jump to FBS the Big Sky will be D-2 in no time.
Who would they bring in to replace us? Central Washington would probably make the jump up if offered a spot, but I don't know who else would even regionally make sense to backfill the spot.

So true. And yet, the league consistently makes decisions to benefit the likes of noco and psu, to the detriment of Montana. I mean, seriously: Could you even imagine the SEC favoring Vandy over Bama and UGA with every decision? We've essentially been the economic engine for the entire league for 30 years.

That's certainly possible, especially if they stick it on Friday night. Selfishly I hope they don't take any Sac State games just because of their presidents immature behavior but I'm sure they'll get at least one and that's the most likely contender.

Not sure if ESPN gets to pick, but Tommy W. would probably love to see the Griz send off the departing Hornets with a National TV "L."

That would be a fun one to be at. My son just left Sacramento to move back to MT. We went down to Davis game a couple seasons ago. It was fun. Davis folks were great at tailgates. Lots of UM grads in area.

TV Game selections for ESPN will be announced tomorrow. After seeing earlier this week when UM announced game themes for the home games and there not being a theme for the Idaho game, I feel very good about the chances of that one being on ESPN2. Then the question becomes will the Griz get two games on ESPN2? If we do I believe it will be at Sac State. I don't see us getting two home games on ESPN2. Shall be interesting to see tomorrow.

Since they are going FBS I’m positive there will be 17 camera angles this time around.
They'll probably utilize their own players to add additional cameras

I think the last game on the schedule could be deserving of ESPN coverage on a weekend in which few, if any rivalry games are played in FBS.

Sounds like the Idaho game might be another night game?

I'm all for this trend of multiple regular season home night games in a season!
Ya it’s gonna be at night. They’re probably just waiting to see if they can get the game on ESPN or if it goes on ESPN2. They did this same thing last year and we ended up finding out in July. It’ll be a night game though. Probably around 8:15 kickoff or so.

I'm all for night games but I hate those really late kick times because that means kickoff isn't until 9:00 p.m. my time. When you have to get up early the next morning, staying up until midnight or 1:00 a.m. is not preferable, especially at my age.

Agreed. It’s also hard to get friends to watch anything past the first quarter and really get them to appreciate Montana football. That being said, I’d wake up for a 2am kickoff after going to bed at 10p knowing I had to work at 6a😂.
