Big Sky Conference tiebreaker likely to hinder Bears

Wildcatfan, I'm not arguing with you about this 5000 requirement, but I remember reading on the UNC board that their athletic department had checked it out and they think they are good to go at Butler-Hancock without having to move it to some other venue. Could the conference have given them some kind of dispensation?

Im not sure, I havent heard about that, I guess its possible.

From what I understand we would host at nearby Budwieser Event Center in Loveland (about 10 miles from Greeley) it seats 7,200. I don't know if this could actually work because the Bud Barn has never hosted a b-ball game. It's used for concerts, indoor football and hockey. Not sure about b-ball.

I specifically remember Loveland being the fallback plan in the posts I was reading, so I must have been confused about thinking there was a green light to have it at Butler-Hancock.

#1 UM - suffered greatly when Cherry was hurt
#2 Weber - would probably be undefeated if Lillard was playing
#3 NAU - Probably the most dangerous wildcard in the tourney
#4 UNC - OVERRATED
#5-9 who cares
#10 -11 SUU and UND

If people are complaining about RPI now, just wait until we have to play UND and SUU twice each and we have a 20 game conference schedule instead of a 16 game conference schedule. Lol.

Good work O'Payday!

Big Sky RIP next year:
:grenade:

Apparently our RPI can get worse than this year.

Actually if you go on thier website and click on the seating Icon at the top it will show you seating charts for all thier events, and one of them is for basketball. Its a pretty nice setup

For Future Members Southern Utah barely makes the cut at 5,300 and North Dakota will be unable to host in thier basketball arena for it only holds 3,300. Unless the Big Sky changes this rule in the next few years.

UND has numerous other options:

Ralph Engelstad Arena: 13,000 for basketball
Alerus Center: 10,000 for basketball
Hyslop Center: 6000 for basketball (hasn't been used for years though)

When UND joins the Big Sky, expect higher profile games (vs Montana, Montana St, NDSU) to be moved to the Ralph or Alerus.

In the last days of DII, it wasn't uncommon for UND to draw 5000 or more (13,000 vs Kansas, 8-9000 vs NDSU, 5-6000 vs USD or SDSU).

Actually, UND and SUU don't join next year. Not until 2012-13.

Five freshmen are leading UND in scoring. Third most productive freshman class after Kentucky and Memphis. Last night UND beat a WAC team: it was on national TV BTW. Don't look now, but UND men's BB is moving up fast in the RPI.

Last year, UND men's basketball was horrendous. This year, five freshmen give UND a very promising future.

See you in 2012-13.

I guess you are right, I just looked over on UNC's board and they said that if they host, the plan is to host it in Butler-Hancock.
