Ok, I looked it up. The answers are:1997 when the Lady Griz were a 9 seed and also the LG were a 4 seed twice, in 1984 and 1988 when there were only 32 and 40 teams in the tourney.
Idaho (men) was a 3 seed in 1982, the highest any Big Sky team has ever been seeded. I should also mention that Idaho was ranked #6 in the country and had a 16-0 record until they lost to the Griz 53-51, the highest-rated team Montana has ever beat.
