Okay, let's bet $250. I say that the ncaa runs the playoff games, "hires" UM to put the game on, and takes the guarantee and then most of the ticket revenue (about 85%) I believe. UM sets the ticket prices fairly low, which can't be lower than the lowest ticket price of the year, I believe. This makes the "gate" even lower. You say the UM makes lots of money off the game, tickets and tv. I agree UM gets the concessions and bookstore, although that isn't a huge amount. As Haslam said, UM doesn't make much, but some, from home playoff games.
