Big Sky Coaches Call

Has anyone else noticed that this weeks Coaches Call appears to be nothing more than a big circle jerk? Is it like that every week. I didn't listen to all the coaches but the ones I did listen to all sounded the same. Every coach win or lose praised the team that they played last week. Then praised the team they are about to play this week! I almost threw up in mouth when Baldwin was praising Northern Colorado. I know NC just came off a big win against the preseason pick for conference champs, but they are still Northern Colorado. Do we think our conference is tough or weak as a whole? I am leaning towards the later!

Some posters have mentioned that UNC is legit. I don't know if that means that they can compete with UM or Eastern though....

Coaches aren't going to say anything crazy on a call like that.. no need to senselessly arm the opposing coach with locker room material.. especially in the Big Sky where you find yourself in an unpredictable track meet every week. And none of these coaches have the last name of Spurrier.

Would you prefer the Belichick treatment? "I'm not a doctor" & "onto Cleveland." FYI, they save the trash talk for the boosters @ the QB club get togethers. Perhaps BW would start a new private thread to share?

Griz fans are not accustomed to a humble coach like Beau Baldwin.

Actually, I would say coaches say pretty interesting stuff on there more often than not. Barnum referred to his team as Southern Utah's "homecoming bitch, or, ah, homecoming queen" and called Cedar City "Whoville".

Stitt flat out stated he felt the Griz were a better team than Cal Poly and that Montana should've won the game.

Mike Kramer says hilarious stuff every week. This week when asked about giving up 531 yards rushing, Kramer said, "It might've looked like we bled to death. We didn't bleed to death. We gouged ourselves, hemorrhaged to death."

Of course there's plenty of coach speak in a call that lasts almost two hours, but I would put Kramer, Barnum and Cal Poly's Tim Walsh up there with any coach in college football as far as quotability.

Yeah, I should have specified.. Big Human and Barnum say some crazy shit. I haven't heard Walsh speak, so I'll take your word for it. Barnum better beat Weber this weekend or he's really gonna regret wishing for a lot of purple in the stands.

Gawd, I can only imagine the sound bites that the big human gives is always pure gold!
Here, if you want homerville, listen to Valley's presser...

They squeaked by 1-4 NAU who was without Cookus. Earlier they beat NAIA Rocky allowing 27 and beat winless Abilene Christian by 3, allowing 52. I'm betting by the end of the year they are still UNC and drawing 4000.

Thanks for the input. I was wondering if it was like this ever week? I did notice and appreciate Kramer talking more about his team and what they actually did (or in this case didn't do) and what they need to do. Instead of like most of the coaches talking most of the time about the exceptional talent of the opposing teams and how well coached they are. Maybe I will find some time next week to see if it is worth a listen. I am slightly disappointed that Choate held it together, I was hoping for more us against the media crap!
