We are absolutely spoiled with Decuire. This is his best job coaching yet. Meshed an entire new group of transfers together and brought back his stud PG and made them champions who could honestly steal a win in the Dance. Incredible.
Love the character of this team. With the ghost of last year’s collapse haunting them and an able team with a ton of firepower tracking them down, this team slammed the door down the stretch. The newcomers played brilliantly. And I believe that tough pre-season schedule really toughened them.

What a day for Griz/Lady Griz Basketball! First the LG doing their best Rocky performance; going the distance with the heavyweight but coming up just short in an instant classic.
Then our dudes righting the ship, taking command of the game early and taking every body blow that UNC could deliver. I give a lot of sh!t to UNC (NCU...) and their one fan but hats off to them. Rillie was a killer tonight and the rest of their team wasn't far behind. Amazing shooting performance by them and they gave it their absolute best shot.
So excited for all our guys. So many of them came here for a shot at greatness and they are at the doorstep. I'm sure many of you had inklings of what this team could be pre-season, but I don't pay much attention nor know anything about recruiting, but hats off to DeCuire on his masterful recruiting this last off-season. Holy Sh!t he nailed every recruit/transfer, including retaining the key cogs in Whitney and Money. This may turn out to be his best team yet. I never thought he would have a better assemblage of talent that the Rorie/Oguine years, but here we are with an incredibly complete team. Amazing.
I know it's all about matchups in the tournament, but I do believe this team may be best situated to do some damage where previous teams struggled. Mainly in ability to create shots with multiple different players. I'm hopeful. Won't be surprised if they bow out early, but would love to see them steal a game.
Also, a shout out to Whitney. Coming back for this year he really upped his game to a special level. Went from an above-average Griz player to an all-timer. Well done and well deserved Tourney MVP!!!

UNC earned an auto bid to the NIT. I think they could potentially win a game or 2.

I hope NC wins at least a game or two if not 3 or 4 in The NIT because it's not only good for NC but the entire Big Sky !!!

It was Whitney as MVP. Pridgen was also all-tourney team as was Money. Rillie and Hawthorne for NoCo and then I think that Jack kid for UI rounded out the all tourney team.

Small correction, Pridgen was not on the all tournament team. It was Whitney, Kai, & Money for the Griz. The depth of this team is incredible!

Thanks! Good catch! It was late and I was just going off what I thought I recalled from the postgame show! Apologies to Kai and Pridgen (who should have been all tourney, too!)
Kai was snubbed from the all conference teams and Pridgen from the all tournament team. A good problem to have! Go Griz!
Unfortunately, the NIT changed that policy two years ago. They no longer award auto-bids to conference champs who do not win their tournament. It's basically the 12th place team in the Big 10 vs the 9th team in the SEC now:
NIT changes format: No automatic bids for regular-season champions, power conferences to get first 12 spots
The NCAA announced significant changes to the NIT selection process

This was updated before the 24/25 season. UNC did earn an auto bid to the NIT.Unfortunately, the NIT changed that policy two years ago. They no longer award auto-bids to conference champs who do not win their tournament. It's basically the 12th place team in the Big 10 vs the 9th team in the SEC now:
