Thanks in part to a bunch of free tickets, a bunch of local school kids and the Jazz Bear, Weber recorded thier largest crowd of the year last night, 8,758. The largest attended conf game since our game vs Eastern last year, which was the largest since 2003 when Weber played Eastern.............go figure.
I was wondering how they pulled off that attendance on a Monday night against the mighty ISU Bengals! 8700 is something I wish we could pull off. Kudos to the AD for getting butts in the bleachers
It was a great crowd. I think at least half were kids who made lots of noise. Hoping for a simular crowd Thursday but with Valentines I'm not expecting it. I'd guess 6,000-7,000.

Eastern? Really? Any reason why?

Your guess is as good as mine my friend

It was the second to last home game last season, and the last conference game. Damian Lillard excitment had somewhat infected the community so people were showing up finally. In the Bracket Buster game against UTA the Cats had 8900, which was the second largest attended game last season. As things go in Ogden. The homers show up only after the season has proven to be successful.

Last nights crowd was great, but the game wasn't that much fun. I did talk to three or four different families who hadn't been to a game in sometime who showed up last night. One guy told his wife that they were crazy not to have been taking advantage of Weber State athletics. That it was far more fun to watch Weber in person, than the Jazz on TV. That is Weber's biggest issue...dealing with the Spazz, Utah, BYU, and Utah State. All four schools are within an hour of each other (UVU is in that area too, along with SLCC and Westminster College, but they don't detract from Weber State attendance), and a lot of people would rather stay home and watch the Jazz than go to a local college basketball game.

There was a lady who sat next to me last night, and she asked me if I went to the games on a regular basis, and I said everyone of them, she asked me if all the games where like this, she said it was a lot of fun and that she should come more often.

Just watched an ESPN interview with Damian Lillard. He said he has a terrible fear of statues. Go figure! Maybe, that's why he stopped penetrating into the lane last season playing against Montana. :?

Re Griz ticket prices: if you are just coming in off the street and are not a GSA member or season ticket holder the side seats are $20. It's about $15 for the corners and $6 or $7 for the north end gen admission. The good news is when no one is sitting on the sides you can move there they announce that at some point. Still as I posted earlier family of four could go $80 on tickets and with a visit to concession your over $100 easy. Or you can sit on the backless pine on the north which is, like 456 feet from the floor. I just can't stand being that far away from the action though. Oh. They do have great deals for groups e.g. High school teams etc.
