Big crowd for Weber State game

Spread the word,we have a big game coming Friday night against Weber State. It would be great for the team to see if we could get 5000 or so boisterous fans into the fieldhouse to cheer on the Griz against our long time rival and the current leader of the Big Sky, the Weber State Wildcats. Let's go Grizzlies!!!!

Sure hope the Griz aren't "boring", don't "walk it up the court", "rarely press" or "don't drive it to the basket" and get at least one dunk so we can keep last week's naysayers in check. Go Griz!!

Friday is the first night of Forrester's Ball...so a big crowd is probably not going to happen.

Yea - Like alot of non-students are going to the Foresters ball! Hell the students don't know how to support the Basketball team anyway!

I said that in regard to the student population, not the non-students. Sure, the students don't know how to support the team and the team doesn't know how to win, fair enough.

I think it's a very positive development that some anticipation and excitement are building for this game. A Griz victory, especially a convincing one, would establish some momentum for this team.

I looked into flying over for the game, but the airfare to fly Friday and back Saturday (to be home in time to host my SB party) was ridiculous.

But I'm hoping all my local buddies plan to attend.

This is a huge game and always has been. The students at U of M these days are fickle and spoiled. If football attendance hadn't already been "built" they wouldn't come to football games either. This generation is self-absorbed and consists of mainly followers. Certainly, one can go to the Forrester's Ball at 9 pm and dance all they need to AFTER the basketball game if they really think about it.

WTF? If the kids really are arriving at Forester's earlier than 9 pm there is something seriously wrong with them.

Recent years not much crowd for Thursday night. This Friday night stuff being new this year maybe a little better crowd. Do not expect crowd enough to affect the outcome. If win Friday, Saturday crowd will effect the outcome.

I went to the game last year, and it was pretty packed, and the crowd was as into it as I've ever seen for a griz mens bb game -- even though the griz ended up being behind most of the game, the crowd was still into it -- in fact, I think if the griz would've won, the games would have been packed for the rest of the year. The fans will come if the men win consistently -- look at the lady griz - they probably average maybe 3-4 thousand fans per home game, but come tourney time, the place is full for every lady griz game. It would be the same for the men if they got to where they won consistently, and played consistently good for all their home games. I bet there will be 5k @ the mens game tonight, and if they win, it'll probably stay that way for the rest of the home games -- especially if the pieces fall in place for them to move up in the conference standings.

Crowd will be +1 larger. Turns out I can make the drive tonight. Bummer will be I have to turn right around afterwards and come home.

Glad you'll be able to make it! That sucks that you hafta head back home right afterwards. This is the first home bb game I've been able to make all year. I am stoked and ready to rock! Hopefully the outcome will be better than last years home game vs Weber!
