The meeting is over. Move-upers should be rooting for Colorado State and Air Force from the MWC. :thumb: :thumb:

Stay-putters should be rooting for no expansion.

I see the Big12 imploding. I could see the SEC, Big 10 and PAC 12 scooping up the schools.
Heck if Texas, Oklahoma left it would be a crushing blow.

No expansion luckily, in other news GOLDBERG returned to Monday Night Raw

And if this happens, there will just be 4 "super" conferences, and I could see them breaking away from the NCAA.

And they could use an auto-bid for their 4 team playoff.

I don't see that happening (the breaking away part). They pretty much get whatever they want now, they need the other BCS conferences to fill out their schedule, and what about the other sports?

Doubtful they couldn't still fill out their schedules; follow the money. But like you, I don't see why they would have to break from the NCAA to do what they want; in fact, doing so might impact their exempt IRS status. The NCAA has already been shown to be powerless regarding conf. changes. They are but the violation cops, small college playoff and Bball tournament coordinators.

The most crushing blow for the Big12 was when UT got the Longhorn network....that thing has screwed everyone...

everyone gave A&M shit for leaving including myself...but now it appears to have been a great move.

Sad thing is..Texas and Oklahoma can get into any conference they want...all the others not so much.

Ultimately I think there will be 4 sixteen team Super Conferences with maybe as many as 8-12 independents. With potentially 75 teams in that scenario I don't see any roadblocks to this group just scheduling among themselves and letting the rest of the country fend for themselves.

As far as leaving the NCAA, I doubt that will happen. The NCAA is all about the money. They will make any concessions necessary to maintain their position.
