Griz: The 2025 Montana Grizzlies consistently showed a much stronger scoring output in the second half compared to the first half. Across their 14–game season (13–1 record), they averaged ~15 points in the first half vs ~23 points in the second half, giving them a +8 scoring differential favoring the second half.

cats: In 2025, the Montana State Bobcats averaged ~19 points in the first half vs ~24 points in the second half, giving them a +5 scoring differential favoring the second half.

The only adjustment we need to make is to run the same defensive plan we did against Tommy in 2023. Lamson was the best player on the field in the November game. When he struggles, they struggle.

Nope. 2 different QB styles. Need different defensive adjustments first each.

Agree he is excellent. Disagree about 2023 plan to stop him.

He and Tommy are not even close to the same - inverted skill sets in many ways.

I don't see the need for massive defensive adjustments...the key is on offense.

Griz adjustments will (should) involve leaning into team speed advantages. Griz will win if they can get guys in space...cats have nobody who can cover Griz slot receivers...

Well it is an official pole, but can only respond by voting for bobcats suck. I think both teams will have key adjustments after the first game. Expect both of them to come out and feel each other out as before, and have multiple plans for in game adjustments.

I have seen things from both teams the last two games that can be exploited by the other. It will still come down to who executes the most consistently and makes the fewest mistakes.

Montana has scored 102 points across the last 2 playoff games, displaying efficiency and creativity. especially with that 3rd and 20 trick play. The cats will have to defend the whole field. this isn't the same team from November 22nd. Maintaining this unpredictability will keep MSU off-balance in my opinion.

We need to pressure lamson, contain jones in the passing game, + in the turnover margin, and we are heading to Nashville.

They kept the ball for the final seven and a half minutes.

I would argue since the loss to the cats, the Griz have made great adjustments on both sides of the ball. On Defense, with the return of Loud, we've been able to bring a lot more LB and S blitzes and even the occasional CB blitz. Plus like a couple of people have mentioned, they're playing Solo more at the mike spot now and he's wreaking havoc. I also think Otlewski has taken a big step forward as well.

On offense, we're seeing more mesh concepts, reaching into the bag a little more, a lot more of Shafer and big blockers getting involved in the run game, etc. The coaching matchup on Saturday will be huge in this game.

Good on them. However, getting a player of Loud's caliber is really hard to replace. So, the defensive scheme changes and not able to send as many to pressure because of the back end issues. That issue isn't there anymore and the defense is able to do more things and get creative with blitz and stunt packages. Loud also tackles really well and can set the edge. Loud's presence is probably the most critical piece to having a great defense with how ours is set to execute in my opinion.

So what. The Griz offense will beat the cats...their deficiencies relative to Griz strengths are on those sides of the ball. The Griz D just needs to hold serve.

This rematch is KAY & Co + speed vs the cat LBs and secondary.

Take the over - whatever the number is...

I think having Loud makes a difference with the defensive gameplan. That in itself will tend to adjustments of the defensive side since Griz-Cat.

I think the Griz are going to play man on both islands now that loud is back.

We’re going to keep a lot more guys in to hopefully muck up the middle.

This defense is playing completely different since Louds return.
I agree as it will free up a man to stop the fly sweeps to have outside contain and also hit Jones on outside pass play that hurt us last game.
