Best part of the UCD win

When I get a call from Sean and he says “we have the attitude the coaches want”
When we see Davis walk and not run to their tunnel, “they are soft”
When they can’t move me on PAT “they are soft”
When they walk off the field “they are soft”...
“We hated them the moment we put our eyes on them..”

We have lost the only game we are going to lose this year in the regular season (my prediction), I am not biased one way or another about the Griz past, only know the last 2 years, I could feel it yesterday at the game, this team is determination to win.

That is all.

Loved the DOLA yesterday. Please tell your son "congratulations on the win" and remain focused week-to-week.

That just gave me goosebumps. This team looks legit.

That is excellent Atomic. Thanks for sharing.

Also, when they pull the starting QB with almost 9 minutes left in the game they are done.

Griz sweep into Davis, tear the place apart & DEpart... leaving the place reeling. Almost like they got hit with a tornado, hail and snow. Or something like that. (p.s. No injuries reported, so I figured it was ok to joke about it a bit)

Not a hoax, in case anyone wondered. Here's a CNN report:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/29/us/davis-california-tornado-trnd/index.html
Key quote:
Ralph Ellis and Eric Levenson said:
The National Weather Service of Sacramento issued a tornado warning at 6:39 p.m. PT on Saturday for a thunderstorm to the north of Davis, and advised people to take shelter. A University of California at Davis atmospheric student reported seeing the tornado touch down at 6:41 p.m. to the east of Highway 101A and Highway 27, the NWS said, adding that no damage was reported.
Wonder where the team was at 6:40 p.m.?

Really glad Sean is an influential part of this team and that he's contributing massively to the positive shift in the program's culture and attitude. It's a great time to be a Grizzly.

Well one thing your kid can never be accused of: being “soft”. Can’t wait til he grows up!

Atomik,
I think my wife and I sat behind you at the game. I assumed it was you because you had his name on the back of your jersey. Great griz crowd there. I don't even feel a little bad that I got a sunburn while my house in great falls was getting 18 inches os snow. Had enough beer and tequila tailgating that we needed a nap before dinner. Missed the weather. It bypassed davis. I would recommend Davis road trip if you get the chance. Sleepy college town. Reminds me of Missoula in the 80s. Stadium has grass end zones like we initially did. Super hospitible town and university. If they ever harness the number of students they have, they have a ton of potential. They used to have one of the best marching bands at this level, but read a newspaper article about how the just returned from banishment due to hazing and sexual assault scandal. They run their timeouts kind of like between innings at baseball games. They lose the crowd a bit. I do agree with another thread. I flelt our small griz section definitely "out energied" the home team.

But, wife and I will definitely try to come back. GSA had a nice gathering and got to meet some griz fans I normally wouldn't, hense the tequila. Got last minute Friday night tickets to dodgers/giants in San Francisco. Going to day 2 in wine country tomorrow. Wish I could come back for sac st. Sounds like a lot of the same people will be there.

BW, in another post, said how he felt UCD kind of wilted when they got socked in the nose by the Griz (I'm paraphrasing and too lazy to go get an exact quote), but it really did seem like the Griz took the starch out of UCD. When you watch the replay of Maier putting the ball on the ground in the face of the rush, it really did seem like they were "soft". Love the Griz intensity...hope they can maintain it all season. Go Griz!

I and much of EGriz and Griz Nation do know about a lot more than the last 2 years and I can tell you that this year there is a different feel to this year's team. It's been a long time since I had this feeling. The feeling that we had a team that could tear the heart and soul out of most of our opponents so that by the middle of the 4th qtr, they were watching the clock, seeing how much longer they had to take what we were dishing out. That we had a team that could have a long run in the playoffs and compete with the best of FCS. It's a great feeling to have and I'm glad you and Sean are a part of it.

Another great part of being at the game was during a TV timeout they had a contest on the video board of 3 dogs doing tricks. Winner was by crowd cheer. 3rd dog won due to griz section cheering loudly. Dog's name was Monty. They didn't have a clue why.

That was Hilarious, we are yelling at the top of our lungs for Monty..... I don’t think it ever struck them why...

Well, they're not the sharpest tools in the shed....

   After seeing Sneed yell at his WR for running the wrong route, I knew this team was going to have a better year. He was an awesome leader out their, someone Griz havent had in a long while. DOLA for sure. :thumb:
