Best Lady Griz of all time

Maybe we should add Annette Whitaker. The Lady Griz's rise to success started with her along with Jill Greenfield, and Sandy Selvig.

Annette could very well be the next Lady Griz head coach, oh say, 15 to 20 years when Robin retires. She is the top Assistant Coach.

The next LG head coach will be Shannon Cate in my opinion. I think Annette will retire when Robin does.

Wow. This thread attests to the major talent that has come through this program. Another amazing credit to Mr. Selvig. :thumb:

Unless Shannon gets an offer she can't refuse. There have been offers from other schools before, but I think she likes the ol' UofM.

Shannon could have left a couple of times actually but she knows what awaits if she stays. Selvig has had some unbelievable offers to leave and could have gone to some of the big time schools long ago. I am glad he didn't, but think Shannon would be awesome as well.

Maybe, but if Selvig leaves real soon, I bet Annette will get the job. She knows the program inside and out better than anybody except Robin. Shannon needs time as a top assistant first before stepping up to head coach. Basically, fill in Annettes shoes first before filling Robin's shoes.

Of course, since Kevin Rocheleau works here Annette will stay here and may not want the responsibility of being a head coach. Than I think Shannon should get it.

Julie Deming has got to be mentioned at least. She could score the ball from anywhere on the court.

Good catch! Of the Lady Griz of recent memory, she was one that you would want the ball in her hands when the game was on the line. I'll not soon forget her performance against Louisiana Tech in the tournament.

shannoncate,shannoncate,shannoncate,shannoncate!

She was flat-out amazing! Was sorry that she had some shoulder troubles late in her career.

I also thoroughly enjoyed watching Ann Lake (Power player plus!), Sherri Brooks, Skyla Cisco and Malia Kipp.

Don't forget the shoplifting incident.

you are a complete jack ass. There was lots of information behind that story and if you knew it... you would NEVER have written this post. :deletepost:

My favorite to watch has to be Skyla Sisco!!! Amazing, competitive as all get out and hates to lose!! Greta Koss was always an inspiration, cool, calm & collective!!

Brooklyn Lorenzen was the best Lady Griz basketball player I ever saw in person (which only dates back to 2003). She was cool, calm, could shoot, and pass. She was a natural leader on the court. Against La. Tech, when every other Griz player was turning over the ball to a much quicker team, Brooklyn remained calm, knowing that the time would come for a rally. She was fun to watch, a fierce competitor, and she exuded confidence in her ability to lead her team. She was what a true point guard should be (something that isn't seen too often anymore).
