Best High School Basketball Player ever?

Nope, it was Casey McGowan, super fast and a great point guard for coach Doug Vanderpan's offense. Vanderpan I believe still holds the state record for best winning percentage but that's another story.

As far as the game, Knudson did play, two weeks after wrecking his knee in the district blowout loss to Belt. He didn't play much that I can remember but he did hit a key three that was a really big emotional lift for the team.

Who was other kid who transferred...Matt something I believe. Good player also.

Craig Finburg. I always wished he would have been a Griz. Could you imagine him and Micheal Ray in the same backcourt? I wonder what his stats would have been if they would have had a 3 point shot in high school and college. Best player I ever played against.

Matt Ludtke was one of the best pure shots. I remember on one weekend he had 13, 3 pointers one game and 9 the next.

I only saw Robin Selvig's brother, Jerry, play one year, but it wasn't in high school. He had left Stanford University and came to Dillon to play at Western. He was a combination of Bob Cousy, Meadowlark Lemon, Pete Maravich, and Magic Johnson..... and John Elway. He had magical hands on defense, double and triple team presses could not stop him, and his passes were always perfect. No turnovers. At first, the kids at Western could not play with him. The passes came off the dribble and out of nowhere (from the hip, behind the back, over the shoulder). Most of the time he never looked in the direction of his passes. The other players would not see the pass coming and would find themselves with the basketball version of the Elway cross on their chests.
I have played with/and against D1 all-conference point guards, but Jerry was by far the best I've seen.
