I believe that MRR is no doubt the best ever Griz. Also believe it's easy to argue for best ever in the Big Sky.

Unfortunately he also may be the best example of what the U is willing to put up with to win. Believe most to include coaches knew what fueled MRR and pretty sure he wasn't a scholar student.

I understand that he is a very personable fellow and is now clean and coaching. Got to applaud him for turning around his life.

Indeed

Still looks like I thought it would Matt Martin is the head and shoulders best all around player with MRR coming in second.

Thanks for all the responses.

It's absolutely ridiculous, laughable and preposterous, not to mention asinine, to put anybody, especially Matt Martin (?!?!?!) ahead of Micheal Ray.This is strictly a contest for #2.

Micheal Ray really blossomed after his freshman year, both in height (I think he grew two inches) and skills How far we might have gone if he'd been a junior or senior on that Ken McKenzie (UCLA) team, or we could have paired him his senior year with one or two of our other greats who were just down the road, Krysko and Pope. But until now, that's been our fate at Montana--one or maybe two good players at a time, surrounded by average talent or underclassmen not ready to make a huge contribution. This is how DeCuire is changing the game. The three-stars are showing up in bunches.

If Matt Martin had MRRs size this wouldn't even be a discussion. ALL AROUND FUNDAMENTALS MRR IS DEFINITELY SECOND.

Martin was a better passer and rebounder in other words he was a team player. Had Martin wanted to drop 45+ a night it was definitely in his arsenal to do so.

MM wasn't as selfish as MRR.

I'd AJohnson or Ceylon Elgin-Taylor over Matt Martin any day. I've watched Ceylon and Matt battle at practice a few times it was quite a sight. Ceylon was the ultimate team player, rarely shot just facilitated but it wasn't because he couldn't shoot.

I am a younger generation die hard Griz fan and it is without a doubt MRR. We have had the pleasure of watching some great players in recent years with the griz, but some of the greatest nba players to ever play have stated that MRR was as good as Jordan if he didn't have his issues with drugs. Magic Johnson may be the greatest point gaurd ever and believed MRR was one of the best players he had ever seen

Wasn't the whole point of the poll though was to pick a player OUTSIDE of the usual MRR, etc?

Andrew Strait was a pretty damned good all around player. He flat out schooled big dudes even though he was only 6'6, 6'7? If he were a few inches taller, he would have dominated even more.

Do you really believe this? I would just guess you are stirring stitt up.
And I guess you never saw MRR play.

OK, ill bite

MRR
averaged 24.2 his senior year
was a two time all american
Averaged 17.1 per game for his career
#5 in assists at UM with 362

Matt Martin
Averaged 10.2 his senior year
Averaged 8.2 per game for his career
Not in top 10 for assists

BTW... Steals, Blocked shots and 3 point shots either did not exist or were not kept during MRR Career.

Just because you say something doesnt make it true. You are a prototypical sponge that thinks things because the media tells you to think that way. You probably think Jordan was the best basketball player of all time too dont you.

Jordan is not in the top 3

If Martin had MRR size he would tear up the NBA and thats the only reason he didnt, SIZE.

Ok.. smoke on.

Btw... I saw both of them play many times and what you are saying is truly insane. But it's a free country...

Looks like a well deserved runaway.....................this poll is as dominating as his on court play.

Well, when you log on 8 accounts in the first 12 minutes of a poll to vote for Martin of course it's going to look like a runaway.

Now that other people have started to see the thread and you've run out of accounts it's looking more like it should. MRR way out in front. No one else even really close.

This...
