Should use your efforts elsewhere and I am probably the most liberal person I know. time and place, etc...citay said:grizatwork said:I had hoped this was about lady griz basketball, but it escalated quickly to the left vs right argument with both sides convinced they are correct and that if they say it often or loudly enough the other side will see the light and come to their side of the aisle when in all reality you are not going to convince a true believer to change their mind.
Back to the lady griz. They have been supported well by Missoula, but it has been more by the local community and not so much the students. Only time students have shown up was when we had WAR (womens attendance record) games. We had to change that name because evidently that acronym was offensive. Lets argue about that for awhile.
Please note that on this board I am all about Grizzly athletics, especially Griz basketball, which I've been hooked on ever since I was a little kid. I'm never looking here to start political fights. But if anybody else starts it, by making a snide remark or "cute" joke that goes against my political grain, I will speak up--and loudly. That's what happened here, witness the title of this thread.
As for the Lady Griz, dare I say it? The coaching staff, while devoted and loyal and UM related, has not kept up with the game. I no longer watch the Lady Griz or any BSC womens' team. It is boring and slow and the same type of game they played years ago, I assume. It is not going to change till the coaching changes. I have seen local high schools in South Carolina that have remarkable talent and now it is evident in the university here. Is there an outreach program at UM? Is there any kind of promotion at UM?
