Shake My Damned Head

Sorry, you probably missed the reference. During the late 70s or 80s, the Government was subsidizing cheese production by buying up excess production. When they had these warehouses full of well aged cheese, they were trying to figure out what to do with it and not pay so much in rent for the warehouses. So they figured out to give the cheese to poor people. Two birds with one stone!

Did you just make all that up off the top of your head?

Here is the wiki link for Government Cheese.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_cheese

Similar story for peanut butter. I had it at Boy Scout Camp--good stuff.

HOLY CRAP, It's cheap in that area... I can get me 3 Trailers down by the River.

Zillow, take me away.

Don't forget to pick up your "government cheese".

What's that?

Clue: Chris Farley SNL classic

That's where I got the Down by the river part, such as anyone that has ever said that since.

I don't remember the Government cheese part, though.

My name is Demian my wife and I were walking by the tailgate area I DID NOT see this post prior to game time. Never even visited this site. We saw this table that had a bunch of liquor bottles lined up I said “let’s ask them if we can buy a hard drink from them. They might let us buy from them.” Wife said yeah let’s just ask. We were all dressed up in black and orange. Obviously ISU fans. Our son is on the Idaho State football team. Anyway we walked over to this group we said “can we buy a drink.” EVERYONE at this tailgate immediately said “NO U CANT BUY A DRINK WE DONT WANT U TO PAY, but here have some shots with us.” There were huge hugs exchanged, handshakes, selfies, group photos and GREAT conversations with these guys. The names I remember most Tim who I believe is ”Reinell30” who made this original post, Brent, and I think Len (big white beard guy). The coolest fans I have ever seen at a sports venue. These fans from Montana made us feel so welcomed, simply cuz we had THE OTHER TEAMS COLORS. They allowed us to tailgate with them. They got us kind of buzzed which so fun. But they also talked with us in genuine conversation, they asked all about our son who is on the ISU team and seemed genuinely interested in him and us and our lives. They shared there life stories with us too. What a special hour that was for us. We got to meet people we never would have met in our lives if it weren’t for them being so welcoming and friendly to opposing team colors. So refreshing thank you Tim = “Reinell30” & the others for all the warm feelings you guys gave us it made it a better day. My mother lives in Stevensville so we stayed with her. We are from Yakima, Wa. My son has come to Missoula his whole life to visit gramma and it was so cool for him to get to actually play D1 big time football game in the city he has visited so many times and he caught his FIRST pass as a college football player so it was pretty ironic it happens at Montana. Great experience for our family. Thx guys. We are fans of UM other than when ISU plays UM. Go win the big sky title now and a natty

Thank you man. Yeah pretty neat deal for sure, gramma felt pretty proud too

Another kudos to UM fans. We of course sat in ISU section in the very southwest corner endzone. Anyway there was an isu fan who was yelling loud to refs etc etc. kind of annoying. This Montana fan kind of got in his face and sort of made it aggressive and personal I thought. Anyway at beginning of second half this Montana fan walks down to the ISU guy and says “that’s bull crap what that guy did to u. I didn’t deserve that. I’m gonna go say something to him. I am a Montana fan and I don’t approve of what he did.” The guy walked over and confronted Montana fan (his own teams fan) and politely talked to him etc etc. walked back over to isu guy and said “sorry about that most of us UM fans aren’t like that, that won’t happen again or I will knock him out.” Anyway the funny part is that I met that Montana Good Samaritan the night behind in Stevensville when we stayed over night with my mom we went to “downtown” Stevensville for the scarecrow festival. I chatted with that dude the night before for about 3 minutes. I recognized him right away in the “confrontation”. Lol small world. The impressive thing was that as a local UM fan he addressed a fellow UM fan to treat a visiting fan of opposing team and to try to be “respectful” at a minimum. Pretty impressive fandom

Yakima... I feel like I spent half my life at the Training Center... I once drove from Western WA to Yakima just for a Big Miner Double!

Wow small world. I spent a lot of time in 1998-2002 working at the training center on the tank roads etc, MATES facility, Truck Wash Rack, shower facility, and many other projects. I hated that site cuz it was so big, and I was so nervous of rattlesnakes getting me (they never did lol). Man I know you know Yakima if you talking Big Miner Double Burger

I found a Bengal player-parent couple wondering around the Hip Strip looking for downtown. I took them to Gild and bought them a few IPAs and tacos. Very nice people. Loved the stadium atmosphere. They were from Stockton and knew Tru a bit.

Ah yes, MATES... You all kept our Abrams and Hummers alive! Well, you all did the best you could with the vehicles they gave us. I didn't mind the facilities, definitely didn't mind that Bar right across from the barracks... I HATED the MPRC though... I never saw a rattler, plenty of Scorpions though.

I saw plenty of rattle snakes south of Mountain Home Battle Tank training center. Had my first taste of them, when they were snuck into our Pork Chops with a thick cream gravy. Never knew I was eating it so I thought it was A pork chop. Saw many a scorpions down there too. Woke up one morning on top of the M-1 engine compartment only to see my feet were within inches of 2 scorpions.
