Ben Roberts

Is this the position that Chase N usually fills?

It seems like the defense keys on Jamaal and Ellis leaving Chase one on one. Having Ben, a bigger guy, there would seem to be a wise move to me.
I'm with you on this.

Love this..its pretty difficult to defend a big body like Roberts from running a 5 yard hook and quick slant when you need a few on 3rd down. Love the big body in the middle of the field. He should be able to control our games between the hashes. When teams need to worry about offenses up the middle, it creates major problems on the outsides. I love the idea of him there.

sorry to piss people off....but EH has not been a huge impact so far this year.
This to me is the biggest head scratcher of the year. I would have bet that good year of not for the Griz overall, it would be a good year, no a HUGE year for EH. There's still time...!

Me too....hopefully things turn around, he deserves it

220 yards with 2 TDs in three games are pretty fine numbers.

Kind of like a TE.

The only way this wouldn't be good news is if it was related to Ellis being out for some reason.

You mean the guy that was in shorts yesterday?

I think EH has put too much pressure on himself as he is dropping-misplaying more passes than I have ever seen him goof up. Simple patterns and wide open to mishandle the pass. In Stitt's offense X and Y receivers
are the 2 outside split ends if you will, Z and "H" are what I would call wing/slot receivers between the X and Y receivers and the tackles. If Ben got moved to X then he has been moved to EH side as I don't think Coach would put him to JJ's side? I'm wondering if he has a hand problem?

Slight update on position for Ben Roberts.
Griz moving the 6-4, 215-lber to inside WR from the outside X position.

Changes everything AM

Was it Roberts who made the bad drop in the endzone at Liberty?

Ref @ Lynchburg were "letting em play", the drop I saw was a one-handed attempt with a DB draped all over him.

This explains the whole sum of the game...MAN UP GRIZ!

This...
That's how it's different from playing centerfield.

The DL, called for offside 4 times, probably not on board with the "letting them play" characterization.

Got it. Stitt's fault for not reminding Gregorak to coach. Dammit Stitt, get your head out of it.

I seem to remember him making a pretty good catch against NDSU when he wasn't being interfered with.

That's correct, but it's ceased to be about Roberts and it's now about the defensive line, drawn off sides four times.

Roberts coming inside is going to be huge. Hes going to be matched vs linebackers now mostly and he is going to win that matchup a lot. Plus having ellis and jones outside forces a saftey to cheat out. Honestly the middle of the field will open up much more. Plus with chad as qb hes going to keep the ball on the option quite a few times a game. Just that threat will help our wide recievers and our o line!. Honestly i bet we play much better in the sky than ooc.

I'm wondering if moving Roberts to the inside is an adjustment to accommodate Chalich moving into the starting role. For the record I think that Reese Carlson is going to go down as one of the greats at WR, but getting Roberts, Jamaal, and Henderson all on the field at once will be hard to defend.

Have to Horner out there as well.

Anything that leads to Roberts, Jones, and Henderson getting more touches than Nacarrotto I am very happy about. Are you kidding me saying that Naccarotto is the only one that can come in motion and do the fly sweep? I would think it would be a good play for Henderson, and it would lead to more defensive attention on the play then the give to Chase.
