Same as the GSA one for football. In the WAG, closes at halftime. $2 everything. Cops keep it safe. etc. I think it'd have an amazing impact on not only the attendance but also the attitude of fans. Discuss.

When e-griz first started you didn't need a user name to post, and there was a thread about how to increase attendance at BB games - my idea was to sell beer, thus when you needed a log-in to post, I used grizbeer.

Seems like a no brainer to me, include the fact that they already sell alcohol at bb games, but only to the select few in the sky club (which is packed even though you really can't even see the game from up there), and clearly it is possible and would be successful.

Hogan once told me that it was a problem with the liquor license/catering contract - it seems like a smart AD could find a way around that, maybe call the WAG an extension of he sky club, and sell season memberships for $20 so it is still a club.

I remember attending the Big Sky Basketball Tourney at the University of Nevada Reno. When we got there I was shocked and surprised to see Beer being sold throughout the venue!!! I would very much be for this & would have to think attendance definately would increase!!! Really, why should the very rich be the only ones able to enjoy a good beer and basketball !!!!

A few years ago, I am pretty sure the GSA tried setting up a tent tailgate outside the fieldhouse. It didn't go over very well.

The thing is... it's not AT the game. It's done by the GSA, in the WAG. If they can set up on school property just across the street for football run the same thing just across the hall from the arena. If GSA can sell beer at football it should be able to do so at basketball. Crowds would blow up. Right now, hardly any upper classmen come back to campus for games... this would do wonders. They kick off their night in the garden around 6, hoot and holler at the bball game and then there's the UDash bus right down town. The fact that this doesn't exist is astonishing. It's essentially an indoor tailgate. If football is allowed, hoops should be as well.

If this is what's keeping Fans away from the arena.......Maybe they're just as well off staying cemented to their bar-stool or to their stale beer smelling couch at home.....
