Beau Donaldson arrested

Soo failure to appear on what would presumably be an ingored or unpaid ticket or something?

Nothing major but something he should've taken care of. Both my wife and I have had warrants our for unpaid tickets, hers for parking on the street outside the Mav's park when the Osprey played there and we didn't pay the ticket promtly. Mine for a minor traffic violation and once again not paying it promptly. We both got them taken care of without incident by just mailing in the payment on the tickets.

Unfortunately for Beau this wasn't the case. Small embarassment but nothing major, IMO.

I think it speaks to a potentially bigger behaviorial issue. He did something previous to get cited for disorderly conduct, then chose not to appear on that charge. Then last night when he was arrested he might have done something, or been with someone who was participating in questionable behavior to have a run in with the police at 6:00-7:00 am. I highly doubt he was just up running errands at that time and was pulled over. But regardless my point is that he now has a pattern of questionable choices that he needs to rectify. I hope he learns from this and moves in the right direction. I do agree that others tend to give our Montana boys more of a pass when they break laws, and that is not right everyone needs to be held to the same standard in the court of public opinion.

Yeah, now the truth finally comes out about Missoula's Bonnie and Clyde scofflaw duo.

Maybe u should actually read what I wrote, I said that everybody makes mistakes. But not showing up for court is not taking accountability for ones actions. If it was as simple as he legitimately forgot and then was pulled over for speeding and was arrested then unfortunately he will be under more pressure to stay the course than others because of this incident. If u want to be ignorant and swear at me as your argument, that just proves your lack of awareness.

Your hardly one to speak of ignorance since it is obvious that your reading comprehension skills have much to be desired if you believe that the swearing was my argument. Ironically I believe after careful deliberation that you and I were probably on the same wave length with our argument, so I apologize and will no longer post on Egriz after drinking.

IF Josh Dennard or even Dan Moore (random example) was cited for this EXACT same offense, this thread would be at least four pages and the words "thug" and "black eye" would have been used multiple times. I'm almost glad to see this because if nothing else it without a shadow of a doubt illustrates a CLEAR bias among many egriz posters towards out of state and african american players.

Or.... This shows Playerrep's true colors. He has not taken Beau's situation and spun it to make him look innocent or has yet tried to show that the cops were out of line...

PS...Beau got taken to jail from his house after the cops showed up for a car accident that happened in front of his house for a warrant that didn't stand. I hear he paid the fines for the ticket but for whatever reason it did not process.. Playerrep, maybe this is a situation you would want to look into?... Wait he is a local kid, never mind...

Bingo.

We had an epic shitstorm erupt when someone posted a lie about Jason Washington years ago. Luckily the bar owner (where the alleged incident took place) cleared things up. When it's as good ol' Montana boy, it's a different situation though.

Quinn gets pulled over for a DUI, HOLY SHIT time for a 34 page thread, with lots of questions as to why we take drop downs, and multiple other threads regarding the incident over a year after the incident took place. A local Montana kid gets busted for a DUI, not even a mention of it on eGriz.

A couple kids from California get tased by the Cops (and the cops later admit they were a bit out of hand too) and HOLY SHIT Front page of the Missoulian and cries of "Thug", "gang banger" and lots of other bullshit gets thrown around all over eGriz for weeks.

A former Griz and good ol' Montana boy ends up facing some serious charges and ... you guessed it... Not a peep on eGriz.

Kind of funny how that works huh?

And before someone here gets their panties in a wad, I'm not saying there should be 100 page threads regarding this incident with Donaldson, or even about any of the other minor (yes, minor) incidents. Honestly, I couldn't give less of a fuck about what Donaldson is being ticketed for. It's a very minor charge, and while it probably shows a lack of good judgment in one minor incident, it's not by any means something that shows he's a bad kid. Who amongst us can honestly say that they've never done something that they could have been arrested for?

So where are the cries of gang banger, thug, and all that? Where are the usual suspects who want to throw a kid who fucks up once in a minor way off of the team, run them out of the state, and then lock them up & throw away the key? Hm.... they are oddly silent over this.

It'd actually be kind of funny to have background checks done on some of these douchebags who want to immediately boot any kid off the team who get charged with something minor. I bet many of them have skeletons in their own closet too. Of course...many of them are probably good ol' Montana boys though, so those skeletons don't matter, right? ;)

People should be judged by their actions regardless or state of origin, race or membership on a team. Having said that, a warrant on a disorderly conduct charge is NOT synonymous with a rape allegation.

Yeah Jason Washington is a real gem isn't he?

One of the 2009 cocaptains, from MT, had a DUI and sat a couple games quietly. It never made the papers or eGriz; they were still full of J.D. Quinn stuff from the year before.
There was also a key player who was a senior on the 2007 team (from Montana) who was arrested the summer before the season on a Misdemeanor charge and another key senior was with him (also from Montana). This didn't make any newspaper headlines and was never mentioned on E-griz. There was also a reserve on the 2008 team who got a DUI in the summer and quietly served a suspension, although he was from Washington, still no mention on egriz or in the Missoulian.

All of these players were punished quietly but goes to show the continued bias and hatred toward out of state /black athletes in Missoula by Missoulians, egriz, and The Missoulian.

Keep grinding that ax buddy. I think the bias isn't so much against non-MT athletes as you want to portray. I think, whether right or wrong, Montanan's generally don't get as wound up about an alcohol charge unless it is a second or third situation. Date rape, assault, drug dealing etc... are looked at more seriously, and rightly so. Montelius got booted for being involved in an assault situation. He was not only a Montanan, he was born and raised in Missoula. Your missing the big picture.

Also, media has changed dramatically even in the last 5 years!

Maybe slightly off topic but, where do you think Donaldson's future with the griz lies? As linebacker or running back? Was never attentive enough to notice if he got many reps on defense but thought he did a very effective job as a power runner. Just wondering where we'll see him most next year.

If he was from CA and not Missoula, he would be getting raked over the coals on eGriz by now.

Tru and Kemp's pleas to disorderly conduct made front page headline stories for the Missoulian.

Maybe its because they got their hair curled by an electronic device but im not sure

Spoke with Beau's brother, older i believe, earlier this season at one of the games about the Disorderly charge. The brother told me that it was a result of a loud party complaint at their house, apparently not the first time, and Beau wasn't even home. The brother said that they were less than cooperative with MPD so they just cited all the leaseholders, Beau being one of them. Still should have taken care of it though, which is the advice i gave Beau later that day.

I disagree the charges against the out of state athletes were much more serious initially and the players themselves were bigger "stars" than Beau Donaldson and more integral to the teams success. That is why their stories went front page.
