I don't think there would be many playoffs without beating Bobcat St.

Hence the mutually exclusive poll choices.

I get it, and hence I am unable to vote.

In 2003, would you have rather made the playoffs or beat the Cats? Same question for 2005.

I am just too greedy and want and did want both. PR is just a dumbass. Can that be my vote?

I definitely wanted both, too. But I would not trade those playoff berths for wins against the Cats.

Sorry, too late to adjust the poll. :D

It's a pretty simple (and interesting) poll. We would all like both to happen every year, but the poll options are mutually exclusive.

I seem to remember someone posting a link to a similar poll on Bobcatville some time ago, and the results were almost the opposite.
Well they don’t know what a playoff win is. Plus they are the type who rush the field when they’re 5-6. They have no idea what they’re even reading or voting on.

AZ, I hadn't seen this post/thread until now. From an ex-player. Note his comment on the importance of the Cat game, as well as his comments on what ex-players think of Stitt's departure. That's what I have been saying all along.

First off, all the former players I’ve talked to are pumped Stitt is gone. Most wanted him fired after last years Cat debacle. We feel horrible for all the coaches because they really work harder than anyone putting is 12 hour days consistently. We all wanted him to succeed. The truth is that beating the Cats is the most important thing you can do. It was ingrained in us. 5-0 against the cats. When I’ve had run into guys from state that we beat it was absolutely the best knowing we beat there ass. Half were battles, half were bloodbaths.

To think that we are 30 something in the poles with the best of everything in FCS is crazy. When I was recruited we didn’t have stalls for toilets. Great coaching matters.

A great coach and teacher will turn our program around over night. Having a sound philosophy and teaching from sound principles will bring the defense back to top ten."

Sounds like 1-10 is acceptable as long as you beat the Cats. Seems like little brother type thinking.

It's obvious you never played the game. You really don't have a clue about Griz football, or you are just doing your troll brigade act. Little brother just kicked the Griz' butts 2 years in a row. Maybe you should re-think the wording of some of your posts. Comments like that make you look like an idiot. Completely clueless about football.

PR, would you prefer 1-10 and beat the Cats or 10-1, losing to the Cats, but getting into the playoffs? Reason I ask, is knowing the pride of Griz football, and the biggest argument by a majority of Griz fans when there was talk about moving up, it wasn't because of MSU they wanted to remain in FCS...it was the chance to win a National Championship. And if you had read previously, my vote was to kick the Cats ass and make the playoffs. So GFY, you pompous douche canoe.

You are a total idiot. Don't know football. Don't know anything about Griz football.

Almost everything you post is incorrect or made up. You epitomize the Troll Brigade. Must be a total loser in life too.

You are right. But glad you gave an answer.

Making the playoffs is way more important! The Smellykats little 2 game run is over and before that they were just a cupcake we had to play... :( :( Welcome back coach Hauck!!!

The very basis of my original poll question.

And PR, your original statement was that FANS wouldn’t trade playoff runs for victories over the cats...this is about FANS’ perspective...And for this guy it’s EASY to say beating the scats was most important....they went 5-0 AND were in the playoffs all 5 years...so he never had to make that choice (or have it made for him). Personally I’d take 10-1 every year even if that loss was to the scats and we were guaranteed to be in the playoffs.

I would prefer making EWU our #1 rival and not even playing Bozeman. A a year in, year out cupcake that's just a pain in the ass, to play! This meazly little 2 game run they have going makes the "PRETENTIOUS" blowhards, obnoxious. They think they really got something going but they really don't!!!Once they can win more than 50% of their games it will surprise me. I DON'T SEE IT. It's always, if this, if that, if they didn't show up. We coulda won that game. Untill then they are just a pain in the neck on our schedule:( :(

Why does it have to be an either or?

Because it's settling a dispute. Not just a simple hypothetical.

That said, playoffs every gd time. It's the ultimate "FTC." You happened to beat us? Well dang. Now we got a bit of work to do to go get another flag to fly. Montana state, who??

Indeed, FTC

If Stitt had us in the playoffs the last 2 years, but lost to the Cats the last 2 years (which happened), I think Stitt would still be the HC. The playoffs are more important. For one thing, they put UM on the map, into the consciousness of the JMU's, etc. IOW, national exposure.

I think making the playoffs and a run at the championship is way more important. Besides if that is accomplished then the cat game becomes a tune up speed bump for the playoffs just as it was pre Stitt era.
