Beating Cats or Making Playoffs? Which is more important?

If you could only have one, which would it be?

  • A victory over the ‘scats every year

    Votes: 11 15.9%
  • Playoff appearances every year

    Votes: 58 84.1%

  • Total voters
    69
  • Poll closed .
It's a pretty simple (and interesting) poll. We would all like both to happen every year, but the poll options are mutually exclusive.

I seem to remember someone posting a link to a similar poll on Bobcatville some time ago, and the results were almost the opposite.

My point exactly. having a victory over the cats come at all costs is just not worth it to me.

Playoffs easy choice. Can't win a national title without the playoffs, and a national title should be the ultimate goal.

Exactly.

What's actually funny (or scary) is kitty nation did this same exact vote a couple of years ago and the majority (like 70%) said they'd rather beat the Griz make the playoffs. Pretty sad IMO

Which fully explains why they rushed the field after a 5-6 season. They won their super bowl.

Why can't it be both? That is my standard. If we don't beat the Cats do we deserve to be in playoffs is the question.

No. The question is: Would you rather beat the Cats, or be in the playoffs. When it's, would you rather Olivia Munn or Olivia Wilde, you don't get to choose both . . .

If beating the Cats (or Griz) was the criteria for a coach keeping his job, one of us would have a new coach every year. Two in a row they definitely need a boot. I like it.

Can't believe I'm asking this, but, as a fan, would you rather make the playoffs or beat the Cats? You can only choose one.

As any card carrying Griz fan will tell you, they could care less about "little brother." In fact, their level of investment in the rivalry is so small that they can't stop talking about how little they care. They're really passionate about how they're not emotionally tied to beating the Cats. I tip my hat to you all, Big Bro ;).

Only to draw a stark contrast to how important beating the Griz is to the majority of the ‘scat fan base....as evidenced by your fans rushing the field after completion of a 5-6 season.

Why does it have to be an either or?

Because that’s the claim PR made? That fans wouldn’t give up victories over the scats for playoff appearances. I realize the two aren’t mutually exclusive, but for THIS poll, they are, to test PR’s theory. 8-)

I don't think there would be many playoffs without beating Bobcat St.

Hence the mutually exclusive poll choices.

I get it, and hence I am unable to vote.

Playoffs by far

I would bet if you ask the red headed step children to the east, I bet the response would be exactly the opposite of this poll.

In 2003, would you have rather made the playoffs or beat the Cats? Same question for 2005.
