coach T has never been a head coach, won as a head coach, does not deserve to be a head coach and should be relieved as head coach. how did he get this job. certainly there's a more deserving candidate who's won a championship at D2 or NAiA who can do something with the talent he's given as opposed to grossly underachieve in the way tinkie and his staffie have done. this season is an embarrassment.

Mike Montgomery had never been a head coach before he took over the Griz. Can't really remember. How has his career worked out, again?

Mike never won a Big Sky tournament with the Griz, even with the wimpy scheduling he had.

Mike never won a Big Sky tournament with the Griz, even with the wimpy scheduling he had.

Correct, he did not. But I don't think anyone can argue the guy can coach. And he almost certainly had more teams with more talent that Tinks has had. So why the hell do we expect Tinks to succeed every year? If a guy with Monty's ability and talent like LK on the floor cannot do it, perhaps we shouldn't expect that Tinks will do it immediately either. :twocents: :twocents:

Yeah, Mike had some winning record for the Griz. built on really weak scheduling.

I should also add, Griz didn't even win a Big Sky Conference regular season title. In fact, Prior to Tinkle, Mike is the only coach that hasn't won a Big Sky Conference regular season Title for Montana. Mike certainly did have some good talent on his team. But, I don't think his scheduling helped the team in preparing them to win the conference.

I am just not a Mike Montgomery fan, and never will be. He wasn't that good of a coach when he coached the Griz. So, I guess if you want to set the bar at Mike's level, then I guess we shouldn't set it so high for Tinkle I suppose.

Color me confused. Monty wasn't a good coach, but we should expect more from Tinkle?? Monty coached in the final four and was an NBA coach for gawd's sake. I simply don't understand the argument.
