Bama all over ND

ND was waaay overrated. Two examples: beat a Pittsburgh team in OT that had lost its opener to Youngstown State and got a quick whistle on a Cardinal RB in OT to beat Stanford. But the Eastern press where the votes are loved 'em. The truth is nobody can prepare for the SEC unless they play in it week in and week out. Texas A&M made an unbelievable transition into the conference this year and will be lights out again next season with Johnny Manziel & Company

The Pitt case is spot on ...that's when I knew the Micks were not that good. They won a lot of close games with no dropdown tilts so kudos to them. At the end of the year probably 10 teams could beat ND. Playoffs please, it will happen soon. 8-)

If there had been a legitimate FBS playoff we wouldn't even be watching this f*cking joke of a "National Championship". It would have been 'Bama v. the Aggies or Oregon.

At the beginning of the year I wanted a Bama/Duck chipper, old school/new school as I dislike Saban immensely as he's a carpetbagger. Bama would have crushed any other team tonight the way they played, A and M ,Ducks, Ohio State or the Jaguars.

As much as I dislike the dude he's a great coach. Will be interesting to see if Meyer can get some of the southern boys up to Ohio State. I think he will, until that happens Nick looks like the king of the hill for a long time. 8-)

I don't know for sure what I saw tonight. My impression of the game was an exhibition contest between a college football team and an NFL franchise. With a team that looked like it could draft an NFL squad (11 players), perhaps 4 or 5 in the first round, and a coach making $5 million plus another $200 k for the NC, was it really a college football game? What is college football anymore? Anyone who thinks any of the runner ups could give Alabama a game are chewing loco weed. I said after the SEC title game that was THE national championship. SEC, NFL, what the hell. Give me the FCS playoffs and a team with a 2.92 GPA any day.

I too think ND was lucky to even be in that game. I think they made it by virtue of USC beating themselves. This year seems to have one thing in common between FBS and FCS, a bunch of runner ups playing for the opportunity to get their butts kicked by a singular dominant team.

Oregon or A&M could have beaten Alabama.

Notre Dame was just that bad. Probably the most overhyped team in last five years.

Close to call... ND or USC for sure.

NDSU would beat Notre Dame.

or georgia or l.s.u. or florida. notre dame had no business in this game and they proved it. bama lost at home to a&m, pulled a rabbit out of their hat against l.s.u. and barely got by georgia. yet notre dame couldn't make it a game for one quarter.

Nobody could have beaten Bama last night. Give Sabin 5 weeks to make a gameplan and you will get your butt kicked.

From Colin Cowherd this morning "Alabama was one tattoo parlor away from not even playing in this game"

FBS desperately needs a playoff.

The most entertaining part of that game was them flashing to McCarron’s girlfriend in the stands.

My god.

this thread should be titled: musberger all over ms. bama.

she's a little roomy in greater thigh area. if you bump into her with a shopping cart it might set off a thighdal wave. mccarron can and probably will do better.

Brent just said what approximately half of the population was thinking. Is that so wrong?

I would much rather have watched playoff games than the ridiculous nothing bowls (Rose, Orange, on down). At least we'd have good football up to the NC.

...musberger haz been a dipsiht...
...since hiz days back in billings...
...alwayz been good to the griz...
...cut him a little slack for that...

... 8-) ...

Brent and Herbie make a great team...obviously ABC/ESPN agree since they always get the AAA games... plus you know Musberger will always be super prepared.

(But then I'm the only person I know who actually likes fruitcake)

yup on the over-rated ND category...the hyped up Irish found out the Bama is in a different universe than Navy, Pitt, Wake, BYU...and it goes on. Bama did them a small favor by coasting a bit in second half or the score would have approached easily 50 plus.
