Bad Fans

It's taken me a long time to gain the courage to share this, but I was assaulted by a group of 3-4 ruffian Bobcat fans in around the beginning of this century. One of them was smoking what looked like a marijuana cigarette. Anyway, they chased me into a dead-end alley, held me down, and one of them farted on my face repeatedly. Then, when I was able to regain my footing, they broke into a dance. It looked something like this:

They then ran off saying I "got served".
Anthem/Blue Cross covered my hospital bills.

I can tell you are telling the truth because they are wearing Bobcat blue spandex.... :roll:

I am just thinking of the logistics of students throwing feces. What a ridiculous claim. Honestly come on man. If you are going to make up stories at least make them somewhat plausible.

Wasn’t alleged, happened 2018 sadly. Know a few player parents who talked about the kids having to deal with it.

Instead of making up lies based on secondhand hearsay, why don’t you address the newsprint account of systemic racism and the documented atrocities inside Reno’s For Sale stadia:

A good way to start would by acknowledging your story is completely fabricated. It didn’t happen. And you know it. It’s an urban legend in Cat land.

I read it. You say it's not one-sided but cite "stories" of bad behavior from only one side, and then "classy" anecdotes from the other.

Both sides need to do better. I’ve seen poor behavior from both fan bases and I’m sure each and every one of us has more than a few stories.

We also all have that friend that always seems to find themselves in the middle of the crap. It’s really easy to stay out of all the BS and enjoy one of the best rivalry games in the country.

Each team has its bad fans. While it isn't cat/Griz, the worst I've seen was an idiot bubcat fan in action inside Reno H Sales Stadium. One of our sons graduated there so we occasionally attended cat games in Bozeman.

Couple of years ago they hosted Idaho. We sat about 10 rows off the field in the SW corner. Right in front of us, a grown man, probably 50 years old, turned around and screamed at an 80-year-old woman next to us to "Shut the f*ck up! I didn't pay for these seats to have you cheering in my ear". Her offense was... her grandson (a Vandal) made a tackle on a kickoff.

Frankly I was stunned. I've never seen anything close to this. The idiot bubcat fan's wife looked terrified, not mortified, but actually terrified. Perhaps he was a wife beater and she feared him beating on the elderly lady. Regardless, he was a cat fan and a very unhinged individual.

There were some nearby empty seats. The grandmother, and the two women with her, stood up and moved to an entirely different section. My wife and I slid down the row to get away from him. Throughout the game we could still hear the idiot screaming profanities at the refs for any call contrary to the cats. In hindsight I'm sorry I didn't go seek out security to harass his ass. Not that they'd expel him, but it may have got HIS attention to "Shut the f*ck up".

Maybe “Go Cats?” It’s a mindset and attitude issue. Anyone who condones that behavior is just as toxic and immature.

I don’t think it’s about who condones it and who condemns it. I think you coulda just used more not so common sense and approached it differently but of course you’re going to focus on the response.

I don’t walk around saying “go cats” to everyone I see wearing a dUMb shirt. Heck let’s say I did. Maybe 9/10 would laugh and say “go gris” but the one who says “Fk you” I suppose I’ll take to the internet about it and say they were mean, knowing full well I’m probably going to get that response at some point.

To the same point: I bet you I could start a thread here saying “go cats” and I would get 10x more “Fk U’s”
