which was the last one to lead the griz to the playoffs? playoff wins?

kind of curious, but no names come to mind for significant playoff runs. except tom brady, but he doesn't count.

John Edwards in 2000? Drew Miller was injured off and on towards the end of the year IIRC.

I still have nightmares thinking about the original Adrian Peterson (OGAP) that year
And the swamp of a field that precluded field goals as the offense kept stalling in the red zone late without Miller. But Huntsberger's run will never be forgotten. Could have been the winner had we been able to contain Peterson.

That was the only NC game I attended and could not agree more. Miserable conditions. When Vinnie dropped the short snap in the rain, it seemed like everyone on GS ran past him to try to get to the punter, then he picked up the ball and ran up the middle for a TD (and the lead, as I recall). The lead didn’t last long because Peterson was so hard to stop, but I’ll never forget Huntsberger’s great TD run on the fake punt.

Dave Dickenson was probably the best back up quarterback I can remember the griz ever having. Bert Wilberger was a helluva game manager... I'd take Wilberger and Humphries in my fox hole any day. Humphries left that field like a warrior. Fuck that "shit is broke aircast thingy" they brought out. He got off that field like a leader. Kid deserves serious credit in that regard alone. The team noticed too I bet..

Anybody that has watched Brown knows he is smooth as silk. I will go out on a limb and say he will be my second favorite backup quarterback.

Didn't Dickenson (as a freshman) get his start after the starter got hurt?

Yep against SDSU! Big Comeback - Would love to watch that game again!

Then you obviously missed the '94 semi game at YSU. I was there. Probably our best OL of all time. Wilberger had all day and couldn't hit a receiver. One of the worst QB performances I've ever seen, second only to Edwards in the '02 MSU game.
